The 992 GT3 is an improvement over over the 991 GT3 but not enough to merit a ADM. I doubt most on the blog would notice a significant difference in performance to warrant paying a five figure ADM. That said, there are those who want the latest models and are willing to pay whatever it takes to get one. Fortunately, I’m not one of them. I love my .2 RS but looking forward to what the 992 RS roll out and see how much it has improved. But based on the 992 GT3 I’m not optimistic.

A dealer called me today and said that total year allocations were dropped to the dealers yesterday. Separate allocations for Touring and winged GT3 models but he indicated there would not be any additional allocations to dealers until next year. He offered me a touring allocation for $20K ADM and gave me 24 hours to decide. It is for an October build. If I take it, they may need to do a little horse trading to align with PTS windows. I trust this dealer to have given me an accurate story.

I called Circle Porsche and offered to pay 60K in ADM.

In these tough times, I need to support my local economy.

Confirmed with a NC dealer. Allocations assigned and they're working their way down the list.

Confirmed in New England as well. Allocations are in and they are talking about fall delivery.

Is your dealer a large dealer? Did you catch how many slots they got? Might be a good way to get a sense of what dealers are getting this year.

The dealer I was 3rd in line at said they only got one allocation yesterday, but hopeful they may get more by Touring launch. Is it confirmed this round of allocations is all there will be for 2021 deliveries?

It is a large dealer but I didn't ask how many allocations he received. He did tell me that he only had 1 Touring allocation - not 100% certain I believe him on that. He did say that the configurator would go live on 31 March and would include the ability to configure Touring. I talked to him this evening and accepted the allocation and gave him a deposit via credit card. I have bought multiple cars from him so I guess a small deposit was satisfactory. He told me that he called PCNA and confirmed that the October build would be OK for PTS and he is arranging a design consult for me at PCNA Atlanta (I want some unique personalization's).Very happy evening for me!

I was told my October build will be a 2022 model and likely ready in November but PTS cars can take longer and until we get further along in the process, the exact timing is difficult to determine. Things are a little more complicated from a timing perspective because I told him I would like to pick the car up in Zuffenhausen. He did say that he will not receive any additional allocations this year and I believe he was telling me the truth.

In other words you agreed to a $20k ADM as stated above in post #227. Did he quote you a base price? Or did you even ask?

$20K ADM - WOW CHRISTMAS COME EARLY!! That's gotta be the high end-- BUT WAIT! There's $40K ADM out there! Why don't they just take me into the bathroom and give me a dirty swirlie while they're at it?

Ridiculous.

$40K ADM - hard pass
$25K ADM - hard pass
$10K ADM- you're in the ballpark
$5K ADM - okay if you must, twist my arm. Let me spec it.

Otherwise, just get a Turbo S and dust 'em.

I absolutely blame the dealers. Miraculously, I am still able to get GT cars at MSRP.

I believe those are the exact words. The dealer does not know the base price or any option pricing yet. He told me that PCNA doesn't provide dealers with advance pricing information and if he knew the base price I am sure he would have told me. However, Porsche has historically been very consistent in their pricing either through design to cost techniques or margin adjustment. A GT3 is always more than a C4S and less than a Turbo. Allow room for a GTS below and a specialty variant above and you should be pretty close to the base price on a 992 GT3.

I blame them if they play games. If they tell you you get a fan allocation at a certain price and then change the deal- not cool. But if they are upfront- then it’s up to us as consumers to decide if we want to pay the gotta have it now tax.

As far as getting cars at msrp- with a little patience and the willingness to comprise on spec a bit, it’s not difficult. But if you have to spec your Carrera white with sofas exactly like every other that will litter Autotrader in a few months but you want to spec it instead of buying it second hand, likely you will pay a premium. Not my cup of tea and I won’t do it.
