Hi all - I tried to do my own research by reading all 13 pages AGAIN but just want to confirm which part numbers would be applicable to upgrade a 991.1 MF (no heat, no SC dial) steering wheel to ta 991.2 MF steering wheel (no heat, no SC dial). This is what my MF wheel looks like:

Is it these part #s?
Airbag unit black - leather cover 95B-880-201-AG-A34
Steering wheel - GT version black leather 9P1-419-091-FD-A34 (looks like #991LEAG2GT on Suncoast)?

Thank you! -Dom

Thank you Paul! I am going to order the parts this week and attempt the switch shortly after. One additional question: anything special to keep in mind when disconnecting/reconnecting the battery? I have read people mention before some “re-learning” the car has to do when reconnected. Any particular order or process to keep in mind? Thanks you! Looking forward to making the switch! -Dom

Hey guys! I have a .1 multifunction steering wheel without heat and upgraded to the .2 steering wheel with heat (I also changed the clock spring). Everything works except for the shift paddles, cruise control and the heat. Paul told me that I need to purchase a code from some Russian guy. Then I take that code to my dealership for the tech to input via PIWIS. After reading through everything for the second time, I did see anyone reference this Russian guy for a code. Is that what everyone else did?

Yes. The Russian guy will get you activation codes. He charges for this. Not sure why you need activation codes for options you already had installed though. I tried this conversion on my base 2013 911 with sport design wheel, and no spirt chrono. Even with activation code, could not get it to work. Then I bought a 2013 911 S WITH sport chrono and sport design wheel. Everything worked on that one. No activation codes needed. My paddles and cruise worked fine. But I did not swap clock spring for one with heating. They were even able to enable the diamond key menu for the mf wheel without an activation code.

Did you replace the module with a 2009/2010?

997.613.289.01

Your best bet is a used one. They tend to be programmed for paddles, but the MF programming is hit or miss. The dealer can help.

The clockspring doesn't need to be replaced. You need the module that goes behind the stalks.

Paul told me to replace the clock spring since my car didn't have the heat function.

I am also looking to upgrading my .1 MF wheel to a .2 MF GT Sport wheel. I was under the impression that it was plug and play. I have not read anything about having to get activation codes. Can anyone confirm?

.1 MF to .2 MF does not need programming. You need the adapter from GPS, and the proper airbag. No activation codes should be needed.
