GT SPORT .2 Frankenwheel transplant to .1 C2S PDK
#256
Hi guys-
Somehow, (don't ask) I ended up with two of these epic 991.2 steering wheels for my 991.1. These are remanufactured with the red ring at 12 o'clock. So, since I only have one Porsche I need to find a new owner for this.
Here's a link to the sale...

Here is my transplant. It is the 360 GT wheel, with the inserts done in carbon mat finish
by MACarbon who also painted the paddles for me. Love it, looks much like the new GT3 wheel.

So I just got a 2015 C4S with heated standard steering wheel (PDK Sport Chrono). According to Suncoast, in order to swap to the Sport Design wheel, I need to also purchase a $454 control unit and have the dealer program it so that I dont show error codes because of the missing heating (which will go away with the swap, which is fine). Does that sound right? Everything I've been able to find says simple swap or is about MF wheel, but not heat. Thanks

Did my swap a few weeks ago.
Old:
New:
swapped out the shifter for an alcantara one as well..
I used the gt sport alcantara wheel with the mf buttons just in case someone ever gets them to work - if not ill swap out the inserts, I already had the control stalk with my old wheel. Was hoping the heated steering would work since I had that on my old wheel as well but no go on that as well. Overall im still happy with the way it looks. I installed it myself and it took about 20 minutes. The wheel did not need to be programmed for the paddles to function and I didn't get any airbag warning even though this is the macan airbag with the 991.2 wheel (9912 airbag was sold out worldwide) . The non functioning buttons are just fidget toys for me now
