JCBH love your MACarbon wheel. I have the GT wheel and love it, but seeing yours I an thinking of giving MACarbon a call.

Do you know If the wheel has to come apart to install the black R inserts?

thanks - call John at MA Carbon - he got me the carbon insert and had my dealer install that and the R inserts - took about 15 minutes for them to do that - pop the airbag, unscrew some stuff, and then re-install in reverse order. Pretty easy now that I have seen it, but good to have your dealer do it so they can clear any codes if any pop up after the wheel was taken off...hope that helps.

thx - MA Carbon did a great job and they sell the carbon portion you see, and all I did was swap it out with the chrome part (which I still have). Easy and toned down the chrome in the car. I removed as much as I could at the factory (did leather AC vents which removes the chrome surrounds)...did similar to my 981 Spyder although I had a black gloss center piece done and inserts, to match the painted black factory trim. Also had the SPYDER center logo done in gloss black (simple) - working on shifter now - replacing the chrome and just ordered leather AC vents from Exclusive Option - those should be arriving in a few weeks. Pics of what has been accomplished so far, below.

I had a flat bottom wheel on my F-Type and I didn't really like that. On the other hand I do like it on our Mercedes. I think it is great on small diameter wheels but not on larger ones.

On the Porsche I don't think I like it.

Techart's workmanship is superb though. The wheel you posted without the flat bottom would be awesome! How much is it?

3) Leather steering column with Carrera Red deviated stitching from Exclusive Option
4) Replaced the black outer trim which is how the GT Sport wheel is setup with the silver outer trim from the GT3 RS or GT4 steering wheels to create a look where all the spokes are fully metal in appearance and not a mix of metal and matte black plastic.

Overall I am super happy with the upgrade:
1) It looks stunning and it is unique. I haven't seen any Porsche wheel the same as this yet.
2) RRS Motorsport did a very nice job with the modifications. I love the thicker rim which feels superb. The workmanship is also as good as Porsche OEM.
3). Also the short throw paddles are amazing.
Thank you for your business! It did come out very nicely

Wonder if I would lose my heated steering wheel option with this mod...

Has anyone retrofitted a GT4 (manual) wheel to their 991.1? I'd like to eventually do this however the need for a new airbag is making it an expensive decision. My favorite wheel is the 911 R but it doesn't seem available to purchase.

Thanks again JCBH.
I am going to remove my GT steering wheel and send it to MACarbon. When I get back from a trip I will re-install the wheel. Is there any issue leaving the car for 2 months with the battery disconnected and no wheel?

I would ask your dealer but I would not think so...mine was only disconnected for 10 minutes
