Has anyone taken delivery or are all the dealers waiting for a certain official date??

I heard a dealer not far from me has some cars to drive. Have a friend who's a sales guy there. Might hit him up this week if I can.

Cars are definitely at dealers and some are available for test drives. I went to three dealers in the last week and witnessed two of those cars being sold on the spot, but somehow neither was taken home right away. This lends support to the notion we advanced earlier that official release (or launch) is March 23 or 24... But it is to be confirmed.... Maybe someone with reliable info can chime in....

PS: my car gets off a ship next week...:-)

Yes they are at dealers. I just came back from a test drive. I have never owned a Porsche but the drive was exciting. It was only about a 15 minute test drive but the car was defiantly fast and handled great.

The dealer I went to had four of them. Nothing up front. One was on there back lot, that was the one I drove. The other three were out back on a lot close by. One of the four was sold and just sitting there.

My car gets off the ship on the 29th of this month.

I think depending on the state, Porsche is waiting to get emissions clearance, so while cars are in port they're not bring released just yet to dealers in some states. I'm sure there's also the element of PCNA trying to control the launch. I know that sounds crazy on both fronts.

Anyone have info on the GT Sport wheel? 360mm. Only in Alcantara?

It has multifunction though?

Yes it's 360mm, you don't have to get a multifunction option and it's available in leather or Alcantara.

Which do you like better? Like the GT size, but a bit busy with the screw look.

Clean looking 360mm one is the RS one, but $$$, and only Alcantara I believe.

I'm quite happy with my choice: non-MF (I don't like buttons) standard one. Not a fan of the screws on the GT one either. The standard one is just more consistent with the dash trim/design IMHO.

Crappy pic from outside the car:

Update from my SA: I will be taking delivery Friday PM

I believe you're correct on the RS version. I do like the smaller wheel size, but the screws and brackets are just terrible. It's like a bad post-modern industrial dream some Munich design student had after a techno concert.

I think the benefit of the Alcantara is that I the brackets seem to come in a darker color, but it's hard to judge just by the pictures. If you see the new wheel in person (i.e. the larger one that's on the Macan and Cayennes) the MF controls to my untrained eye mute the brackets as they're filling part, but not all of that space up. Candidly I think the controls are very discrete. That being said, I opted not to get them, just to have a more focused appearance. Too many decisions !

Good luck!!

^^ The stalk is fine don't worry. I'm surprised they didn't put a 12 o'clock marker on the new wheel like the .1 Sport one. The only .2 wheel that has it seems to be the RS one.

I think the sport wheel has the marker too.

One little note regarding the sport chrono package and the manettino on the steering wheel. As the photo above confirms, with the sport chrono package you get the manettino and the sport and sport + buttons on the center console disappear (as you select them with the manettino).... that is something I had not realized until last weekend when I saw a demo... I thought you would still have the buttons on the center console and you could just use either the manettino or the center console... one small disappointment...
