That's on top of already needing an additional new rear valance. If wanting it, get it on your ordered cars. Plus, it sounds great. Always the option of the on/off button too. All reports are that without it, the .2 is pretty quiet compared to the .1

Hey STG,

I was just up at the dealer and spoke with one of the service reps. He said that the PSE is not retrofittable. The work required (extensive working around plumbing for pneumatics, the rear bodywork and repaint) made it cost prohibitive. He wasn't pleased - He mentioned that the PSE was one of the most popular 991.1 retrofits, along with the sport steering wheel.

For the poster that mentioned he was waiting for a GT Silver Targa with the Bordeaux/black interior - they had one on the showroom floor and it was spectacular. I was actually a little surprised by how good it looked. They really pulled off a beautiful shade of deep red in the leather. I thought it looked very rich.

Cheers

Not sure what body work and repaint he's talking about? It's just the black plastic rear valance that gets switched out.

As far as a retrofit, I think it's still TBD.

That's what I thought too. He said that he was shocked when they announced it at the meeting. Call and find out from the horses mouth -

Our buddy Gene here from Jim Ellis can fill us in. He used to be a tech before going into sales.

I'm sure your contact is accurate. Horse or no horse.

Could it be that Porsche is trying to steer customers towards an option with a good a margin at the time of build rather than profit later for their dealers?... don't want to be cynical one in the room, but I would think Porsche (like any enterprise) would protect their revenues...

Guys, is the rotary switch or compass on the steering wheel come on all .2's? Or is it a sport chrono only feature?

do you mean the "manettino" like dial at 4 o'clock of the steering wheel? if so, that comes only with the sport chrono package.

Ok. Thanks. So no console SC button with SC? Only steering wheel?

The Ferrari guys might not like you using that name.

By the way, you started a nice thread here for the .2'ers.

I'll get out now since I'm not officially supposed to be in the room.

that's what people have called it in here... so, yes, what I just realized is that if you get the SC package then your get the "rotary dial" on the steering wheel and the sport and sport+ buttons are removed from the console (as you would select them with the dial instead). This was a minor disappointment for me because I would have liked to have the *option* of selecting the drive more from either the dial or the console... others in this forum have commented that it is more distracting to reach for a button on the center console... in addition, the "rotary dial" feels like cheap plastic and a little flimsy to me... but we shall see in real life soon enough... :-)

I agree, who needs more blank console buttons?? I'm sure you could get a new console with those buttons and may be able to program it later?

Was kidding about the name!
