Looks like my car is getting close. Based on information from the dealer I was able to figure out that my car is coming in on the Hoegh Delhi. Docks in Davisville Port (RI) it is getting in sometime tonight (according to the marine tracking service)! After that maybe a week or so to get to my Dealer. It is listed as getting into Dealer Inventory on 3/11 at Porsche of Nashua (NH). Also got the dealer invitation to the Dealer launch event for March 24th.

I'd like to apologize for some of my comments regarding the 991.2 in the past and didn't mean to alienate any guys with interest in them.
I've realized that Porsche makes different 911 versions for different reasons, and you can buy what you want. With cars like the GTS, GT3, GT3RS, and the new R there is something for everyone.
Our tastes can be as diverse as color of car, choices of options, transmissions, and engine types.
I like what I like, as others do as well. Buy what your hard earned money will allow.
Anyway, owning a 911 has been a long time goal for many. Enjoy it when the time comes. Life's too short

thanks for the update Vivek and congrats. 2 questions:
1) if it is a customer sold car, why would it say "dealer inventory"
2) will they deliver it to you right away, or do you have to wait until after the launch event?
I think you will be the first in this forum to receive a car....
PS: mine is boarding a ship on Friday...

Thank you STG. You have been a terrific resource on this forum!
Whether NA or Turbo, PDK or manual, I think we can all celebrate and share the passion for this fine automobile!

2) I hope I don't have to wait, it didn't sound like it from the dealer they indicated I would likely get it a few days after they got it. So according to the details below theoretically a few days after the 11th, but it looks like things are running ahead of schedule currently, by a day or 2. Funny thing is mine is a C4S, so I actually thought the C2/C2S ones would get delivered earlier, but it looks like they are coming over together.

1) I'm not sure why (maybe because all they have is a deposit at this point), but I assume it still has to enter their system for them to sell it. These are the steps in the info (see below).

keep us posted on the delivery date. I was under the impression it had something to do with when the 2017 model year is technically allowed to start distribution... I would be very curious!
Anyways, congrats again.

Hoping that Porsche Experience Center at Carson opens soon and hopefully when PEC LA opens, buyers at SoCal can purchase their new Porsche with PEC delivery option from outer state dealers with much better discount and just pick up the new car at PEC LA.

I would not be surprised if cars are held up until dealer launch, March 24th. The Germans are not known for making exceptions like having a 2017 model on the street before the official launch.

This would make me very sad

I wouldn't buy a new non GT 911 for anything under 5% off MSRP. 6-7% can be had. Some dealers are using this initial hype to give low discounts. Trust me, there will be plenty of cars to go around. Demand hasn't been record-breaking.
On average, California dealers are the biggest offenders in the low discount arena.
