Child Carseat That Fits 991s Coupe Rear Seat
#286
Not sure if it’s out there but I have a 14 month old baby and we have only used a rear facing as that’s what’s recommended for safety at her weight. Any rear facing seats that would work? Currently we have the nuna rava, I haven’t tried it but am pretty sure that it’s too big for the 991.2.

I used the Uppababy Vista as a rear facing option for my 991.1 coupe and it worked but barely. Felt pretty good as far as fit and safety but the front passenger seat became completely unusable. What worked best was actually to leave the seat in the frunk, then when you need it, get the kiddo in while you're outside and then drop the seat into the base.

My 8 year old has just about outgrown our Maxi-Cosi Rodiflex. It looks like I need to get the HiFold seat but before I do, are there any other seats to consider that fit the narrow seat base of the backseats and are as low as the MiFold? I prefer the seat connect via latch system to the car like the rodiflex.

They’re somewhere near 50-52” at this point. To be honest, I’m beginning to question how much longer they will be needing booster seats as they are already 9 years old and I don’t believe my state even requires them now for their age or size. And those back seats are actually quite right for kids their size even without the booster.
Thanks and I agree my only hold up and concern is their heads over the back of the seats. Just wish they had something back there, worried snapping their necks backwards in any form of an accident.

Did you have any luck? I am in the same boat. My 992 isn't here for a few months and have no way to try it out but saw the Diono Monterey 5iST FixSafe link to car seat

From a safety perspective, you want the seat to be reclined. The problem is the rear seat backs are very upright. By the time the base of the car seat is placed on the seat cushion, there’s not much room to recline the child seat. Furthermore, the rear windshield is very low as well.
I ended up removing the rear seats temporarily (until my son fits in a booster seat. It gives a lot more room for the seat to be placed securely with plenty of room to recline the seat. It took me 15 minutes so it’s super easy to do and I highly recommend it from a safety perspective. Here’s some pictures before/after:

Its a Britax Boulevard (from one of the pictures)
I've the MaxiCosi RodiSport in my 991.1 Coupe (I couldn't get the MaxiCosi RodiFix anywhere for a reasonable deal).
One gotcha with the Rodisport is that the seat comes with a slot where the cup holder can attach to the base.
Ensure that you remove the slots (fastened with a couple of screws) on both sides or else they'll mar your nice leather seats in the back!
