HOT FOR SALE: Pick of the Week 991
It's back, the lime gold Carmax wonder, same mileage, same price. It had been unavailable for a couple of weeks. Previously, they said it could not be transferred. Now it can be, whatever that means.

Yes.
Reasons why you wouldn't.....?
4 seats vs 2 (cabin roominess)
430/400 vs 385hp
911 vs Cayman heritage
wing vs no wing
not paying above MSRP vs paying below MSRP out of principal disregarding that flawed logic
thinking the GT4 "bubble" is about to burst vs 991 market is healthy

Here are a few more reasons THE 991.1 S or GTS is better, IMO. Because the GT4 has -
No sunroof
No vented leather seats
No remote entry
No parking sensors/camera
No Bose
No PASM
No PDK option, which I'm starting to consider for my next Porsche

On CarMax in general: I know a few have picked up nice cars from them, but I just looked at another CarMax Porsche and it was more of the same... Not good.
Car was a 2015 Macan S. Beautiful build sheet, all the right options, 1-owner, clean carfax, good looking pictures, etc. I had it shipped in from Georgia (fortunately any AWD vehicle ships free to Colorado) and gave it a look.
It was grungy and un-detailed (which I can live with, but makes it much harder to inspect. More than a few largish paint chips (which I specifically asked them to let me know about before shipping), had the brake calipers painted with what looks like a paint brush, super-sloppy job, seats were just filthy.
It's maybe the 8th Porsche I've looked at on different CarMax lots. ALL had condition issues unacceptable to me (at least not without significant price adjustment, which carmax will not do), not one of them the least bit tempting.
I will admit I am ULTRA picky about cars i buy... If you are as well, be suspect of most CarMax Porsche inventory.
I agree with those 4 reasons. I love the GT4, except for its high pricing. And it is a bit visceral for street use.

Anyone see this 2013 C2S with 8500 miles? Existing CPO, great build with PSE, sport seats, SC, Aerokit, full leather, at $77,000.

...and the first red flag. Same VIN is listed for sale by Livermore Porsche for $84.5K. Maybe it's a consignment car and the owner is also looking at selling directly, maybe not. Definitely requires some due diligence. One of the reasons it's so important to include a VIN in the HFS posts if available!

But the car does look like an awesome build at a great price if there are no stories and you can really get it for $77K or less. Somebody SF-local should check it out and jump on it!
Guard red 991s with pdk. Burnmester audio with full leather package. Pristine condition with Porsche certified pre owned warranty till 10/2018. Aerocup kit was installed by Porsche of Plano. Just had annual service done at Livermore Porsche . full records. Clean history. Serious buyer only. (510) 825-8769

It looks pretty decent on quick glance, at $68.9k with 25k miles, except for the frontal collision accident reported 4 years ago in NV. You'd have to inspect it. It might be a good buy for somebody going to put a lot of miles on it...

Based on info and pictures in Craigslist ad, looks like it may be legit and on consignment at the dealer as well. Dealer pics show license plate on it too.
His mention of Porsche of Plano doing the Aerokit Cup matches CarFax history too.
Console shows spoiler button still. They never got a new one with the button delete.

That car has been passed around more times than Taylor Swift. There is a reason people have been passing on this car - run away, don't walk!
(And this from a guy who actually did buy a 991S from CARMAX a few years ago and was very happy with his purchase)

Regarding this car, I messaged the seller on Craigslist. I guess Livermore bought his car. He said he forgot to delete the post.
