LOADED C4S cab $152,000 MSRP with $70,000 off. Picture indicates that it has red contrast stitching. Also seems to additional paint not on the buildsheet, namely the rear skirt and the lower part of the exterior mirror which is normally a problematic piece of plastic.

Beautiful car.

Further research shows accident and repossession. Looks like it hit auction too.

Dealer will have to explain how they are going to CPO it then. Number of repainted panels etc. Either the accident was a bit lame, or there is a double issue. I'll update my post.

I'm sure minimum damage that still passes the CPO.

Trust me, what passes as CPO wouldn't pass my requirements many times.

They could CPO a monkey.

Yes, there is a list. So and so many panels repainted (2 IIRC) and a few other criteria. You can wack the rear bumper and CPO. Not sure about the impact bar behind the bumper. Anybody knows whether impact bar replacement disables CPO?

You can always have a sneaky dealer trying to not give you a fresh CPO but the rest of a previous CPO that had been done before the accident. That partially used up CPO would remain valid unless the car is totaled, and as long as it is goes through a Porsche dealer or private sale (no other dealers). Of course during this thread we assume that any "CPO" is a fresh CPO right now, not a passed through remaining CPO.

I'm also sure that some dealers would go as far as accidentally overlooking some paint work when they certify for CPO. Bring paint meter and black light.

Dealer needs to answer some questions. Still, could be as little as a new bumper cover.

Woah. Some of those convertible buyers/builders had really loose pockets when specing. We here know that money in optional features doesn't come back, but come on.

Here is a $60,500 off MSRP deal.

C4S vert, relatively old and higher miles. $140,570.00 build but manages to miss both PSE and SC. At least it has paddles.

Nice cabin with two-tone leather and brushed aluminium, but the odd build kills resale.

$79,999 @ 40,849 miles, down from $140,570 msrp

The dealer has no clue, they just bought the car at auction. The reality of the fact is a CarFax ding for an accident is a $10,000 hit on value.

I look at a CPO as just an extended warranty. No validation on the condition or history of the car. I trust no dealers at their word for those things. They'll practically slap a CPO on anything these days. It's just marketing to offer something independent dealers cannot.

Another one of those high-MSRP C4S verts that ends up $45,000 off. Again having PDK but no SC. Note to new-car buyers: don't do that.

PSE is present this time. 14-ways with premium plus (vent seats etc)/

$91,983 @ 12,206 miles, down from $136,975 msrp

Slowly running out of the "hot" zone.

I'm posting this as a reasonable vert. It is a base model, overall an expensive build with good money off. Reason for posting is very low miles. $7/mile off. Also one of the few RWD verts floating around.

Dealer looks meh/lazy. ****ty pictures. Supposed to be CPO. Might be worth liberating from them if it checks out and some money is being knocked off.

$84,972 @ 4,908 miles, down from $119,700 msrp

$1,533.11/month(w), age 1.9 years (22 months), factor 0.834/year, 2,601 miles/year (warranty)
$1,251.55/month(p), age 2.3 years (27 months), factor 0.862/year, 2,123 miles/year (production)

Reporting back on this car. Just drove it and am going to pass on the car.
Sadly it's in 'average' condition.
No paintwork, but decent number of road rash in front clip.
Driver seat leather shows wear.
Brake pads are about done. Rotors don't look too healthy either.
Rear 'hood' needs hood shocks.
Car indicated a 30k service due.
Tires are total junk, 2014 date code, but useless grip on throttle and braking. Drove it and was all over the place. Even on medium braking, ABS was coming on, felt like tires were dry rotted?
Signs of rust under the car. Interesting because carfax doesn't show the car to have been up north.
Great price, but add all the fixes and it's not a great price.

Thanks for the report. This dealer gets LOTS of cars I believe, but many in questionable condition. Great that you're nearby to check out that dealer in person. Will be handy in the future should you decide to help out someone.

The consensus is to pass on adding a third-party warranty; 991.1s have proven to be very reliable.

Based on RL posts, Porsche seems to be pretty good on doing goodwill repairs (free, or at a deep discount) on out-of-warranty 991s.

Nice report and photos. I have checked out a couple 991s up here for folks, and both were in rough shape. The funny thing is they both sold quickly, so a lot of buyers do not care as much as HFSers.

I would be perfectly fine being out of warranty. Some of these companies like Fidelity seem to have a pretty good reputation. Most of the time you'll pay more in the premium than you'll ever use. Better to self-insure in my opinion.

As far as goodwill repairs and being out of warranty, I know there have been a few ones cosmetic related that we've heard about. I would not say that it's very common and would never count on that at all.

Trust me, Porsche isn't that generous.
