So I ended test driving a 15 GTS red w/pdk. Traffic was so bad never could get above 35mph. Car felt sluggish and PSE exhaust didn't sound good. Low optioned model for a GTS with 15K on the clock and two previous owners including a Porsche executive. Wanted 109K. I passed.

They called later and said the white 911 was in the body shop but they didn't know why. I passed on that as well.

So I really didn't get a chance to get a true test drive but my first impressions did not match what I expected. Probably need to get a real test drive before I make any further judgments. Maybe I had my sights set to high.
Didn't get over 35 MPH??? We're you even in Sport or have the PSE on?? Hard to make a judgement on a traffic laden under 35 MPH drive isn't it? You aren't test driving a Prius. Get back to us once you get a real drive in. Maybe try a Jaaaaaaag ...

Or this?

I'd try a post on the main board. Probably best to get 1,000 posts going around in circles there. Everyone will have an opinion.

It was bumper to bumper traffic in San Diego area. Didn't have a choice. Yes it had sport/pse on.

Go for a real drive and get back to us. Seriously, how can you even make a conclusion and a post? Like saying, the food sucks at "restaurant X", but I only tried an appetizer.

Give the car a real try. Maybe it is/isn't for you. Not for everyone. 1,000's of cars out there. One less .1 man on the hunt is good news

Anyway, back to regular scheduled programming......

Sluggish? Were you driving around in auto with PSE turned off?

PSE + Manual Mode + Sport+ is a pretty angry combo it you keep the RPMs up. Better yet, find a clear on ramp, floor it, and don't shift into third until 75MPH

Messing around with how the car breathes, both in and out, generally changes engine characteristics quite a bit. It isn't so much more peak horsepower, it is that the torque curve gets randomized a bit, so the car feels different.

That's what I was thinking in my head exactly $65k, but wasn't sure if I got the hang of this HFS pricing structure yet.... Guess all this searching every day is helping me get the hang of it.

Let's see if I can pick this up for $65k then.

There is no "HFS pricing" really in the big scope of things. A well priced car may not appeal to everyone because of the build.

HFS is all about finding the car that suits most of your wish list at a fair price and being a well educated buyer.

Quite a balancing act of +/-'s. There is always a trade off. Sometimes it's price for the right car, sometimes it's being flexible with options. In the end, you'll soon forget a couple thousand $$$, when you're enjoying your car.

The worse mistake you can make is buying the WRONG car at any price.

Default Prices seem a little high to me, am I wrong?

Great, now that I'm looking in the market the prices seem at least $10-15K higher than a couple months ago. Spring fever or are there other market forces at work? At this point I'm going to just try and be patient and wait for my deal to come along, which hopefully won't be too long.
