HOT FOR SALE: Pick of the Week 991
#8928
Hey Guys,
Much appreciated on the feedback! STG - I don't intend to buy from BHP (unless i can lowball and they accept for example) - I don't have high hopes for that. I was only using that car as an example of a configuration that is acceptable to me.
911seeker - woops you are right that is a little higher optioned than I thought. I probably don't need most of those, but I wouldn't mind having them (and paying a small adder for them). I'm actually pretty flexible on the build, though I would love to have sport exhaust
I definitely don't mind shopping out of LA (San Diego, Santa Barbara, Carlsbad) would be acceptable. Outside of CA -- I would be willing to pay a small premium to avoid having to do that. As I would have to pay shipping, and I would want to personally fly out and see the car before dropping ~80K. So I guess I will be willing to pay 3-4K more to avoid shopping out of state. (I think shipping alone will be ~2k, plus travel costs, and hassle?)
But besides that adder for shopping in Socal, I definitely want to get a decent deal. I haven't seen anything (2014 2S) asking price CPO for less than 80K, so I am trying to understand what should be my opening bid on some of these cars. So it seems like 75K + a california adder of ~3-4k if using this vehicle as an example?
I am assuming there is some price flexibility beyond the asking prices I find in Cargurus, and the porsche finder right? Probably not at BHP, but say at a less popular dealer like Carlsbad or San Diego?
BTW, I saw the lime green one this thread was talking about on Carmax. It looks like it's back again. 72K seems like a low price... but I hate the color I'll definitely be looking out for any more 2014's that might show up there as well.

2015 GTS with PDK, SPASM, 18 ways, Bose, and much more.
$33K off MSRP with 5,500 miles. One owner.
At a Mercedes dealer. I've heard, they're dealing. Maybe you can get it for $105K or close to it? I'd go in ready to rumble. I think they may have been asking $119K for it initially.

Or there is this one asking $103 as long as white GTS is the flavor of the day:

I never trust a seller whose ad is in ALL CAPS! Maybe it's just me, but I'd be willing to bet that a study with a statistically valid sample would yield results that the % of dogs is greater with ads written in all caps.

I had negotiated this car to 101.5 too, but then I got uneasy about the dealer's style, the weirdly badgeless rear-end, and the all caps. definitely the all caps. who writes an ad for a 100k car like that?!
