HOT FOR SALE: Pick of the Week 991
Am I crazy or have .1 prices not dropped much in the last two years? The CPO warranty expires next month on my '13C2S that I paid $75k for two years ago, original MSRP $130k. I bought it with about 25k miles and now have 42k. My original plan was to keep it for two years and trade for a newer .1 or .2, possibly a GTS, but I think I'd have a hard time replacing mine for what I paid for it, much less something newer. Now thinking I'll just buy an extended warranty and keep it for a few more years.

2013 991
Hi All:
I am new to Rennlist and close to getting my first 911. There are 2 I am negotiating on. 1 is a 2013 911 C2, black on black with 34K miles. the asking is $52K, the other is 2012 991 C2 beige on blue with 44K asking $48K. The latter has an minor accident on its carfax. What do you think of the car prices, one better than the other, or both good/bad.
Looking for advise
Thanks

@raidersfan, thanks for the feedback. Also heard that the early 2012s had issues. What is PPI?
Both cars are pretty basic, with sunroofs, heated seats, PDK, & Nav. Only upgrades are 20" wheels on both

2. The few issues first year 991 cars had that I know of were some minor problems with "change over valves" (COV's are little electronically controlled vacuum switches that control things) and door panels that sometimes warped in very hot climates. COV problems have likely been addressed on most cars by now, and if not, its a pretty easy fix. Warped door panels are easy to spot but expensive to fix if not under warranty... Again, you'd know it if a car has the issue.
3. The build sheets are important because many of use feel that there are some fairly undesirable build combinations out there. Perhaps the biggest one is a PDK car without Sport Chrono option. Nobody really cares about the extra little stopwatch dial on the dash with Sport Chrono, but many (most?) of us feel that no Sport+ mode for the PDK (which you only get when you order Sport Chrono) is a deal-breaker.
4. For determining fair price, my top three factors are condition, condition, condition. Mileage alone doesn't mean squat... I've seen 60K mile cars that are in showroom condition and 20K mile cars that I wouldn't even consider purchasing they were so poorly cared for.
If it is clean, in superb condition, fully serviced, and correctly optioned, you can live without the extra S horsepower, and if you like black over black, than car #1 might be worth considering.

Found this on Carmax's site. I'm usually scared of them but I know some people here have gotten decent deals.
It seems pretty well optioned and it is a manual. The mileage is a bit high though.
Thoughts? Anyone know this car?

Edit: Just looked at the Carfax, five owners and lease/rental history. I think I'll pass.

Lease, not a rental. looks like 2 owners. car is CPO and likely still is. Definitely worth a look.

It was then sold to a new owner in FL and it looks like a second and third new owner in FL unless that owner simply refinanced two times.
Also, it was CPO in 6/30/15. CPOs last two years unless they are on top of the original warranty so the CPO would have expired a year ago.

I went ahead and transferred it because it was free but I am cautious.
If it checks out it seems priced pretty well for a DD.

You lost me. It looks like it was leased originally in NJ. Are you saying that the original owner registered it in both NJ and FL? Either way, a bit odd.
