^^^ Have the trifecta tonight guys!! I'm done for the day. Enjoy looking at them. Don't need to spend a lot of $$$ for the dream. Save $$, and don't sweat the warranty. These cars are very reliable. Put away $3K, and I can almost guarantee you that you won't need much of it in the next 2yrs that you'd have a CPO for. You probably wouldn't even spend $1K on any out of warranty items.

OK guys... Help find me my HFS 2012.5 manual 991. I've been looking for quite a while and haven't found the right car yet. Admittedly, I'm a) very picky, and b) targeting the lower end of the 991 price spectrum.
  • Coupe, not Cab.
  • Manual, not PDK! (that cuts out 90% of 991's right there)
  • Likely that only 2012.5 cars are going to be in my target budget. Maybe a 2013 outlier.
  • Not red, not yellow. Platinums, dark grays, blues, or white preferred. I'll settle for black. (note, some of the off-reds like Amaranth would be just fine)
  • Don't care about miles if priced right.
  • Don't care about CPO if priced right.
  • S strongly preferred, but would consider base as well (you guessed it, if priced right).
  • Would love full leather, but not holding my breath.
  • SPASM, Sport Exhaust, Sport Chrono would be great adds but will live without them. (SC only essential in PDK cars IMHO).
  • Sport design or aero package would be a home run, but now I'm dreaming...

My eyes have also been wondering to 981Cayman S's... I really prefer the 991, but the ratio of manual-to-PDK 981 Caymans seems much higher than the 991's. (And since there is no HFS 981 thread, PM me if you stumble upon something like a gorgeous manual 981 Cayman GTS!)

I actually have some high resolution pictures that the dealer sent me since I was on the list to get it if the deal fell through (was going to be a gift for my dad post his operation from January since its the spec he's been wanting). They're attached below!

Cars like the above would be a great entry level 991, but PDK without the SC software is a deal-breaker for many including me... I'd give up the timer wart (actually prefer the dash without it) and even the dynamic engine mounts, but not the sport programming for the PDK. IMHO it feels so lazy without it...

For a price-point, Carmax just sold another $55K 2013 base coupe (here), 37K miles, manual transmission, sport seats, platinum silver. It's not the 991 most here are looking for, but a lot of Porsche for money and I think the manual transmission with the base horsepower goes together much better than a PDK base. Does anybody here own a non-S manual 991?
I do. 2014 C2 MT in the highly sought after Racing Yellow!

Please find 2 of these! I'm chasing a "perfect" S Coupe, with PDK right now and may well wind up with it. But, a 7MT would be perfect! Oh, and Red, Yellow, Blue are all ok. Really don't want black, basalt, mahogany. Otherwise I'm all ears!

Both of those silver convertibles seem to be advertised higher on other sites. That is why they didn't look hot to me so far. I hope this isn't a CPO versus non-CPO game. I will inquire about both of them. Thanks so much for the heads-up!

I agree, these cars are very reliable---For me, the primary reason I consider the purchase of a CPO or warranty is for resale----a future buyer of my 911 may require/need the reassurance a warranty provides...and that the car has been "inspected" to certain standards.

"Actuarial analysts who work in the insurance industry use statistical models to analyze data and calculate the probability of and costs associated with certain events, such as product failure, accidents, property damage, injury, and death. They use the results to design and price insurance policies..."

These analysts are in the business of making a profit and you can rest assured that the $3,000 warranty you purchased is making them money....

If you are going to keep the car longer than the warranty period---Bank the money--

Cheers

If you are looking at a 911 CAB purchase this year...

Seriously consider one of these recent 911 CAB's----Spring and Summer is almost here.

Good weather = Higher Pricing

Save a couple thousand now---

Cheers
