Nick,

This is infuriating. Kudos to you for your patience and humor in the face of this travesty. Keep up the pressure. The publicity will work in your favor and the short sighted morons keeping this problem alive will have to cry uncle. Try local TV news, they love these stories and Porsche will understand the value of negative TV publicity.

Good luck!

I have been following this ever since and I find it difficult to understand Porsche's behavior granted we only know one side of the story.

Point is I'm honestly really disappointed and scared of spending hard earn money and get thrown a lemon and treated in such a manner. I'm rethinking the entire thing. Sigh...
No offense, but this is just silly. there are hundreds of us on RL without any problems. Most of us (me included) feel for Nick and want him to be made whole, but the issues with his car are not widespread. Hopefully, PCNA's attitude is isolated as well.

Its not silly at all. Problem cars like Nick's are not widespread, but the problem of having to fight for more than minor warranty performance sure seems to be real enough. For every guy like Nicoli (who had his engine replaced pronto) there seem to be ten or more who had to fight for not much more than brake pads. Yes they will replace your squealing pads (if you wait a few weeks for them to come in) and whistling windows and sunroofs (if you keep bringing it back enough times) but if your whole car zonks out smelling of smoke AND full of water at the same time, well good luck. That may be a low-probability event, but at very high cost, which is the very definition of risk. You could look it up. Its simply not silly when talking significant money to want to avoid risk.

I agree with what you're saying, but I think it's silly because ALL manufacturers make lemons, some more than others.

This is true.

It's also true that all 991s are still under warranty.

Sure would like to see how these 991s and their fancy, albeit sometimes fragile, electronics fare once the warranty is up and it's all on the owner's dime.

Good thing is, most with a 991 won't own one long enough to find out, I'd imagine

It would be good to see the emails. Does anyone have a PRISM account?

The video is still up but I have put I note on it that this is resolved. I think I will leave the video up and point people to a new video to talk about what happened.

In the end TV and Radio were wanting to get involved as well and it had frankly gotten a lot bigger than I had ever expected so I was glad to get the call.

This started because PCNA were offering me what they thought I would get in arbertation which is the standard offer for these sorts of cases, where as my position was that I felt what I had been through was more than just a standard case and wanted a full refund or replacement. People can decide themselves if they agree or not.

I can certainly see PCNA's point of view and I hope they could see mine. The difference between what was offered and what I wanted was just a few thousand dollars.

It certainly was not worth the mess that this all turned into sadly.

Anyway they have not bribed me or asked me take down the video or anything and because they came to the party and I do still believe in their product I am happy to make a new video saying so. Also to thank everyone for all your support.

I did not want to damage the brand, and I think I need to help people understand that my case was pretty much a one off. Too much hate has been thrown at Porsche for the wrong reasons here and I would like to do what I can to fix that. Their product is good, I just had a disagreement with them over how serious my particular case was. That has been fixed now and I can move on to a new car.

You know, there's been a lot of publicity about this - probably quite a bit of damage to the Porsche image.

Someone mentioned that this all started with after-market mods that you had initiated - and then things rollercostered from there - I think you owe it to everyone who has sympathized with you so far to come clean with any modifications you had made to the car since your purchased it - and I mean aftermarket mods. Otherwise, there'll be strong credence to the opinion that you simply manipulated public opinion when things went wrong after you performed some after-market mods.

Nick congrats. Definitely do not stop making videos. Your informative/review videos were quite good and I'd like to see more of them. Maybe when the dust settles and you have your new 911 you can try out your new dash cam and do a video on that.

Anyway, I hope the new car lives up to your expectations this time.

Sure thing. I had a Escort 9500CI and two dash cams installed by the dealer on the day of delivery. They required simple 12v hookups.

They had been installed correctly and were in no way related to any of the problems with my car.

PCNA also confirmed this.
