Two times now I had the green light going and was about to start everything and then - SLAM -

Of course I get messages that I have no idea what they mean nor have I read anywhere about others getting them?

I have no idea what’s going on or why?

From the picture it looks like the thinkdiag light is blue. That is a good sign. What module were you trying to enter when you received the error? If your car does not have that module, you will get that error. You will also get that error if the car is not on.

My first code change was to be the auto start/stop, so I was following #23 directions and had selected air conditioning - then this

Simple question- is a Lenovo laptop considered an android device? I use that with my VAG-COM software to code VW/Audi products. Is this basically the same thing that will work on a Porsche (hopefully a dot 2 991) to do the various "mods" ?? I have an iPhone which won't work according to this thread.

TIA. And please give me a break- I'm a dinosaur who doesn't need a computer to work on my 914's!!

No. You can run android emulators like Bluestack but I don't know if any of them has BT support. You need an Android phone/tablet. I don't know why folks without an android device don't just get the ones with the handheld screen.

Regarding the error message during coding, my ThinkDiag is very fussy about being plugged into the OBD port. It is loose/sloppy and really needs to get shoved in. I bought an extension cable hoping that I can get the cable solidly into the OBD port and then have better access to the ThinkDiag to ensure a good connection. Haven't tried it out yet though.

I ordered the PSE kit for my 2014 981CS. I have installed everything except the mufflers so far. The kit included the new center console with all the buttons so you can put what you have where you want and then program them.
My car originally had the following:
left side:
1-Sport
2-PSM off
right side:
1- Spoiler
2- Auto Start/Stop

The new center console seemed to come preprogramed with the right #3 as Auto Start/Stop. So, I just had to program the car to have PSE and then program Right #2 button to that. I used @RwdConnor 's thread on how to do that and now all is good on the right side.
My issue is on the left side. The PSM off button is programmed on Left #4 on the new console. I have tried to program it onto Left #2 but it stays in the #4 spot. I have also tried to put it in the #3 spot, but that doesn't work either. Having blanks between buttons doesn't look good, so I would like to get it moved up or program something in the #2 & 3 spots. I have tried programming #2 to SportPlus, but it doesn't seem to work. I am doing the button location in the BKE field assignment. Currently the Thinkdiag shows Left #1 = Sport, Left #2 = PSM off, Left #3,4&5 = not assigned, but #4 still controls PSM off and #2 doesn't do anything.
Ideally, I would set it up like @RwdConnor has his set up:
SPORT | SPOLIER
SPORT | PLUS PSE
PASM AUTO | START STOP
PSM OFF
But I don't know if I can get those options to work on my car. I do not have Sport Chonos.
Can anyone help me either move my PSM off button to #2, or better yet, figure out how to program SportPlus and PASM?

So, after the car sat powered down for several hours, I don't have any buttons that control the PSM off anymore. Even though the Thinkdiag shows that #3 is listed as PSM off. So, I tried programming #2 to PSM OFF/ESC OFF and I set #3 to ESC+TC Off and let the car sit powered down for 30 minutes. Now #2 controls the PSM off like it should. I had power cycled it in the past, but I must need to let it sit off longer for some things to change.
I would still like to program sport plus in the #2 spot, if possible, but I don't have most the items that make it different than Sport so it isn't too big of a deal.

My closest dealer is 3 hours away, so the Thinkdiag has already easily paid for itself for me. In time and money savings.

Not sure if this has been covered. Is it possible to change the spoiler height with Thinkdiag?

Ive looked unsuccessfully but has anyone else looked into adding the following...

1. Ability to enable/disable auto-rev matching on manual transmission cars in sport/sport plus, GT3 can do this in the gauge cluster I think, I would have to guess there is a setting for this in that case

2. No lift shift, GT3 can do this

Not sure how these functions work, but I would think maybe the rev match would be in the module

Yes its a numerical value in 'steps' in the rear body control module
