Default ThinkDiag+ setup problems

I bought the all software version of ThinkDiag and just picked up a Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite (model SM-T220).

Using the tablet I went to the Google Play site and searched for the ThinkDiag+ app per the instructions that came with my device.

It says the app won’t work on this device?

I spent all this effort scanning through these posts, ordering the device, finding a good deal on a Samsung tablet . . .

Anyone? Why won’t it work?

I am usually an android tablet and it works fine. However, you need to install the app yourself. It can't be installed from the Google Play Store.

Here is a link to the app:

https://apkcombo.com/thinkdiag/com.us.thinkdiag.plus/

You may also need to change the settings on the tablet to allow third party apps.

Follow the link I provided to download the app and use joserpaq's instructions to authorize third party apps. If it is still not working, let us know specifically what is not working.

Perfect, that worked.

Went out to the car, found the obd2 location, turned the power on to the car and plugged in ThinkDiag.

It kept searching via Bluetooth for my device but couldn’t connect?

How do you get this thing working?

Did the ThinkDiag device light up when you plugged it into the OBD port?

I would try rebooting the android. That may fix the connection issue. Does the light on the thinkdiag turn green when you plug it in? I know it then turns blue. I think it turns blue once it connects but am not positive about the timing.

ThinkDiag did not light up at all after plugged into the port at the bottom of the fuse panel (yes, key in the car, power on)

plugged in twice to make sure connection was good

On my 718, the green light turns on as soon as I plug the unit in. You may have a bad unit.

Rebooted the tablet and now the ThinkDiag green light is on. Successfully downloaded the Porsche software to the tablet and confirmed my VIN.

Not sure what to do next. I printed out the 29 page coding guide by KEN G and CROC 2.0 but my screen on the tablet doesn’t look like what they show

The Launch instructions are pretty similar to the thinkdiag. However, now that I switched to a thinkdiag, I put together instructions for the thinkdiag. See attached.

The screens on your tablet won't look exactly like what is in the 29 page pdf.
The pdf represents the screen of a X431.
The ThinkDiag screen may/will be different once you get into the coding.
Start with the instructions in the pdf and somewhere along the way you will have to figure out what to do next once the wording begins to differ.
They'll be similar, but not exactly as shown in the pdf
