Does this mean that you do not have to remove the smokers package lid/insert at all? With the cup holder insert some are installing it requires that center console to be removed.

Correct - Nothing is removed or changed. The ashtray stays as-is. This snaps over the top of it and makes it appear as though it's no longer there. No removal of the console or trim.

With this new version, you don't have to remove the ashtray insert like in your original design?

BTW, as good as the first version was, the updated one is WAAY more elegant -- well worth the upgrade.

I guess those with manual shifters need to skip it right? Can’t imagine having a phone there while driving stick.
