I did an extensive research on this and spoke with a couple of Finance managers.
I’m going to assume what you are saying is true. Regardless, the dealer I use only sells Porsche warranties so I went with that. If they sold cheaper warranties which they promised to honor, I would have gone with a less expensive alternative.

I spoke with my Porsche Service Advisor this past Saturday to ask if he accepts the Fidelity warranty. They do with no problem. He also told me that Fidelity used to underwrite the Porsche extended warranties. Not sure why Fidelity bowed out, but he said he has no issues dealing with them.

BTW, I just bought a 6 year/60,000 mile Platinum Warranty, $100 deductible for $2809. I have less then 10,000 miles on my '17 C2.

That’s good. I once bought a third party extended warranty from an Audi dealer for my 2000 A6. When the oxygen sensors for the catalytic converters failed at 80k miles, the repair cost was 5k. The warranty company is out of business, I was informed by the service department. So I had to pay for the repair. The dealership took no responsibility for selling me that warranty. I hope that doesn’t happen for the Porsche warranty.

Anyway, I probably wasted a bunch of money buying an extended warranty but on the other hand, I don’t trust a high performance German car to last nine years without serious problems. And I do drive my car although not as much as I should.

i figure one repair in the next 6 years and its a break even transaction. I have never owned a German car without a warranty. Hope my automotive ADD doesn't kick and I keep this car, but I like the fact that the warranty can help with resale if I decide to move on.

Here's a list of a recent quote for Porsche extended warranty cost. It is from Safeguard 3rd party, though the salesman initially said it was a "Porsche" product.

That's true. My contract has Porsche at the top of the page in large font, vehicle protection contract in smaller font and Safeguard as the adminstrator of the contract in fine print at the bottom. I hope the dealer's service department will honor the contract since the dealer's finance dept. sold it to me under the Porsche guise (with a hefty margin) but who knows! Warranty companies can be very shady.

That's great. Can you clarify though? I thought the timing was concurrent with the manufacturer- so a 6 year on a 2015 car would end this year?

6 years from yesterday. (Day I purchased warranty). So it will be good until 2027.

Default Fidelity Extended Warranty ($200.00 RENNLIST promocode)

Hey all - Michael Bernardo from Steingold Volvo Cars here - thrilled with the response from this forum, and so glad to help the Porsche community.

We are now an Official Rennlist Forum Sponsor, and hope the sponsorship helps keep this site running for many years to come.

We stay extremely busy with the Volvo plans through Fidelity from the Swedespeed.com forums, so it’s no problem at all to pass along the discounts to Rennlist.com as well. Just use our online portal below for a free quote, and it will present options for Fidelity Extended Warranty Service Contracts at hugely discounted prices. We’ve helped many here already, so glad to help!

Use the link below to get an Instant Free Online Quote with our portal, and use promocode RENNLIST to save $200.00 - the discount should help get the pricing extremely competitive, and we also don’t charge sales tax or processing fees. The only issue is w/ CA residents - California has a law that states its residents cannot purchase outside of CA. Bummer.

Excited to help the Porsche Community, and if any questions, don't hesitate!

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Please point us to the “law” that states California residents can not buy an extended warranty from an out of state issuer. I know that there are more than a few of us that have already done so.
