That last paragraph is actually quite reassuring. If the update does anything other than changing the Sport+ shift points to improve drivability on the street, they are on the hook for lying.

Those on this thread who have had it done report that it adjusts Sport + shifting behavior to be like the 991.2. Noone has reported any other performance change. Sounds ok to me.

Shift points are definitely lowered. It's now shifting nowhere near red line. I'm a little confused by those that said that it was fine. It's nowhere near as aggressive as it used to be.

Okay, so I had a chance to get out onto the freeway and play.
The car is definitely holding gears longer (as it should) in Sport+. With normal street driving it's shifting at around 4000-5000 rpm. If you drive more aggressively, then it will shift higher and if you floor it, then it will redline shift.
As far as I can tell, the car drives and sounds the way it should. My PSE still has all the noise that it should. I would like it to hold gears a little longer under normal driving, but as far as I can tell, all the power is there and accessible when I need it and if I punch it, then it shifts as it should.
If I were to guess, based on my drive, they have set the algorithm to shift at lower RPM for less spirited driving, then shift higher if you're being aggressive. It's hard to drive to redline on the street, so I'm guessing that helps them get to their emissions numbers, then when you want to redline it on the track, then it may do so.
Considering that Sport+ is intended for the track, I would be interested to hear from more people that have put their cars on the track and their assessment.
