20k-ish miles in the last year and change, and I still love my PDK. It's a magic gearbox. It seems to always be in the right gear, and I can use the paddles to shift it myself if I want to (and I do quite often). All of my sports cars in the past were manual, and to be honest, I've always been a bit clumsy at the heel-toe thing. A couple knee surgeries on my left knee hasn't helped over the years.

However, I do lust after a CT with a manual.

Had a .1 3.4 manual then .2 pdk c2s, now .2 c2s manual. The manuals between .1 and .2 are diff. I'm thinking of trading for a previous gt4.

It comes down to what you use the car for, commuting or fun. For commuting get a Tesla, for fun the manual Porsche wins.

No, for city driving and commuting I have no regrets. Just remember to put it into Sport mode because Normal mode is basically all mpg efficiency. It’s a beast in sport+.

No regrets at all. Have a pdk in the 991 and the Macan. I think it is an incredible transmission.

Pretend it is not even there - top speed is achieved in 6 so just don't ever use 7, unless on a long stretch of highway when chilling.

I almost never use gears 5-7 on my 2018 Targa GTS. Having the "extra" gears takes nothing away from the ones you actually use.

This. I almost never used 7th gear, it was mostly useless.

I was doing some butt dyno runs after flashing my GTS w/stage 2 file and was thinking about this topic. The answer is H*** NO, I don't regret getting PDK! If you want to row your own gears, by all means enjoy the stick. I enjoy max performing my machines and PDK is a no brainer for me.

No, I don’t because I have a manual, would not even consider auto, bore me to tears, I don’t care if it’s faster, more to driving than just speed imho

Daily driving in one of the greater urban regions is mostly stop and go traffic, and quite a slog. The purity of the driving experience is rather diminished. Besides a manual would impede my ability to communicate with other drivers. Keeping up foreign relations.

I do miss it, but it’s just not a good fit for my car needs now.

Been down both roads like many on this post. First two 911s were manual and then I finally decided to get a beautiful C4S with PDK to switch things up. I kept the C4S for 8 months and got out of it back into a manual. If it's not your daily driver, and you are retired (congrats), manual all the way.

Thank you everyone for sharing your opinions and experiences. Wish I could say you've helped me decide, but I'm still on the fence. Yeah, the PDK is a great transmission but I'm afraid an hour, or even a day, test drive isn't going to eliminate the fact that I might eventually miss the 3rd pedal. I've decided to look at CPO'd cars and prioritize the other options I find necessary and since there are so few manuals out there I'll probably end up with a PDK. In that case, I'll just keep my B5 S4 a while longer so I have something to row. Thanks again.
