Anyone regret getting PDK?

Drifting
No regrets at all. I had been driving manual transmission 911s since the mid 1980s. Thought I would never change, but got a PDK in my 991.1 GTS, and will never go back to manual.

When at Lime Rock wanting to hang with more talented drivers and dedicated track cars I want PDK all day. For every other situation, with the two PDK GT3's I've owned, the PDK felt way boring and uninvolved. It's a tough call on a GT3 that sees some
track. Even a little track could make it worth it.

Burning Brakes
Not everyone wants the fastest car. Same goes for women.. some like super model types and some like them a little plump. Go with what moves you! I've rowed my own gear ever since I was 16 and I don't miss it. I prefer PDK as it is one of the best gear boxes out there.

I'm typing this thinking that back when the car was invented and folks were transitioning from a horse and buggy to a car the same comments were made about the level of engagement associated with manual versus PDK transmissions. 
I considered myself a hardcore manual transmission guy until I drove a PDK. I don't find my total driving experience any different from the manual. I do not feel less engaged, but others do. It's clearly a personal preference and what you enjoy or don't enjoy. Part of my decision was I'm tall and the manual cars are hard for me to do a heal-toe shift without hitting my knees on the steering wheel. That problem is solved with the PDK. Like others said about friends and partners...the PDK is less intimidating for my wife to drive and she can drive a manual just fine. I love both and wish I had both! I'm staying with my PDK.

I've found that when I have a manual car, I kind of get tired of having to shift after a year or so. When I have an automatic, I miss the manual.
I traded my manual M2 for my PDK 911.1 GTS. It's too early to tell if I'll get bored or not since I've only driven it 3 times since I've had it. But I can tell you, I was starting to get a little tired of shifting the M2 after 10 months of ownership.
Best to have 2 fun cars in each tranny!

The first three cars I ever owned were manuals. All 9 911’s I’ve owned were all manuals. I drove 997 GTS with PDK and was not impressed. Then I drove a 991.2 PDK and was immediately hooked. The PDK has become more refined over the generations and I expect that will continue. The 992 is probably much better then 991.2 but have not driven one.
I always drive in manual mode with Sport on. I use Sport plus on track days.
A manual now seems clunky and slow. I’ll never buy a manual again. I actually feel very connected shifting the PDK.
At the end of the day it hardly matters what I or anyone else thinks. It’s your car. Drive it. If you love the PDK get it. If not get a manual.
Lot’s of folks on this forum seem hate the PDK. No reason to hate on either they are just different and one is new technology.
I don’t hate either tranny. Just bought the one that worked best for me.
