Anyone regret getting PDK?

I had a PDK loaner for a week and it got super boring after 30 minutes.
The other thing I felt that as an automatic transmission (what it is) it was too funky for my taste.
The ZF trans in my M40i is head and shoulders above PDK at this point. I personally think PDK is getting long in the tooth compared to the latest generation of automatic transmissions.
With all that said...I am a diehard manual fan. Nothing compares to that!

Current ATs are technical wonders and have the performance advantage sewn up.
That being said, every time I get in and drive my 7 MT, it's a pure pleasure I've never experienced with an AT, always a dance to get the smoothest shift or launch or exercising total control.
If 911s didn't offer the MT, I wouldn't have purchased a Porsche, period.
Having an MT and rural roads predominating your home grounds, I see a clear choice.
Good luck with your acquisition either way.

The PDK is the best automatic in the business. But ask yourself if you want to be more engaged and directly connected with your car. PDK in my Macan Turbo and a manual in my 911.

In the market for a 911 and on the fence about tranny. Will not be tracking it and retired so driving will be pleasure rural driving. Not much stop and go. I've owned manual transmissions my whole life and have never regretted having them. I've read all the posts about the pros and cons of each and what they don't address is the personal enjoyment of rowing. Just wondering if any of you have gone with a PDK and regretted it? Not from a reliability or cost or performance perspective, but just enjoyment.
Nope. I have PDK, but I highly recommend buying a car with the Sport Wheel with paddle shifters. I always drive my C2S in Sport mode with paddle shifting all the time, besides, if you ever want to pretend to have manual shift, just pull back on both paddles and rev it up . . .

I didn't have PDK, but I had a DCT M4. It was only fun when I was flooring the pedal, and hauling tail. The quick shifts are mindblowing. It's a great experience, but I got bored. I traded it in and got a MT C2 GTS. I love the MT because I feel connected. I'm definitely slower, but it's cool because I'm not racing for a living.

One final thought. I've read on numerous occasions that Porsche's MT and PDK are great transmissions and you can't go wrong with either. I don't agree. The overwhelming majority of Porsche buyers love the driving experience. If someone spends a significant amount of money on a new Porsche and discovers that he doesn't enjoy driving an automatic, he has made a costly mistake.

What model was the vehicle?
Also FWIW the PDK in the Macan is not the same PDK that is in the sport cars. They are different boxes. One is a Weissach design, the other is VW design.

We have a PDK 911 C2S (991) and a 981 Cayman S manual. Sure, the Cayman is smaller and lighter and has the same power to weight (via tune), but the reason I always choose the the Cayman is, more than anything, the incredible manual transmission. I love that tight 6-speed gear box. There is something super enjoyable about it. This is in stop and go traffic as well; I just don't care: when I do get a chance to let the car go, I love rowing through the gears.
Unfortunately, I don't find the 7 speed 911 manual to be as enjoyable to shift: It isn't as smooth, so getting that cayman experience really isn't possible on a normal 911 (outside of a GT3 Touring or R).
Is the PDK a "deal killer"? I don't think so. A 911 is a fabulous car. But a manual Cayman S (with a tune like ours, making 365hp with headers) just has a sportiness to it, and the transmission is a solid part of that experience.
