And you need the GT4 alcantara shifter boot w red stitching

https://www.suncoastparts.com/produc...81KNOBCSO.html

easy swap. Use a trim tool on front edge of boot and pull up. Pull boot over shifter, get a player and turn lock mechanism quarter turn to release shifter from stem. Pull loose plastic pieces to separate shifter **** from boot. Replace your new w 7 speed to match new boot. Reinstall

You too? 😊 Funny you should mention this. I've been searching eBay for one. I can't sew the leather so I'd have to buy one. Good thing I can't see it when sitting in the car!
I have been looking for one too. I found a nice manual steering column adjust one, but not the motorized steering adjustment version. I love the leather covered steering column.

Since you like the R why not swap the front and rear bumper for GT3 versions
Will get you pretty close to a R look ;-)

4.0 has done similar mods...read his thread and I doubt anyone will want to go through what he did when he put a GT3 bumper on his car!

Thanks for the "encouragement". 😋 New Porsche parts are too much for my budget, but a red stitched leather boot would be nice.
On the Auto dimming mirror upgrade, have you actually gotten them to work with the wire harness?
I've already got the door mirrors and rear view mirror, but haven't found anyone that got it to work.

Frank at Exclusive Option can get you the red stitched leather boot with yours as the core.

You're thinking like me now! I actually looked into a gt3 rear bumper. I'm told they can be made to fit a narrow body, but the issue is the exhaust. Gt3s have center exit, and I have dual outlets on the outside. So I would need a custom exhaust. As Bob Z points out this would be prohibitively expensive.
I did see an aftermarket gt3 styled narrow body bumper with dual exhaust outlets for ~$1300. If they were made of urethane I'd probably take a chance, but they are duraglass i.e. fiberglass. I wouldn't want stiff glass on the car as a slight tap in the rear would probably impact the fenders.

It's interesting to me that you can get deviated leather shift boots for a Honda or BMW for $80, but for the Porsche its $300.
I might try pulling my black stitches and hand sew some red thread I have. That wouldn't cost me anything but time.

with the right harness it should work but you may need to visit dealer with PIWIS to activate.

You can actually get a fabric paint pen and do it yourself, which is rather easy actually and it wipes right off the leather. Google it and you'll see what I mean. I was going to get one in Miami Blue but if I did the boot I would have to do everything else such as the seats, steering wheel, dash, etc., and no one makes a fabric paint pen in Miami Blue.

You can EASILY re-stitch your leather boot using the existing holes where it was originally stitched with red thread. I did this myself in less than an hour:
