Did you have a coolant leak/water pump replaced?

Regardless of warranty expiration, Porsche knows this is weak point on the 991.2s and 992s. If it's within a reasonable timeframe after expiration, I would push the porsche dealer to be your advocate for replacement at not cost to you. If need be, elevate it to the rep at your national office. Here in the US we can elevate to PCNA. I've seen it be effective for a couple friends of mine on other issues. All it costs you is your time.

I took it upon myself this afternoon thinking it would be a quick job since you can see the water pump right from the bottom.
Big surprise when I found I had to pull the muffler and the girdle that holds the engine up.
Total time was about 2:30-3hrs.
One of the challenging parts is trying to support the engine up while not putting too much stress on the crappy plastic oil pan.

Wow, I for one am impressed, although it’s kind of like doing bypass surgery on yourself. Why didn’t you just have the dealer do it?

How can this not be a recall PORSCHE???
2017 C4S 12,000 miles CPO until Nov 2023 here. Going for an oil change next week and yes, I've discovered antifreeze on the water pump housing and an attachment bolt. Not dripping on the floor yet but I highly doubt it will fix itself. I'll follow up but the dealership (Hennessy, Roswell, GA) has been good to me in the past.

A few reasons but a major one is I own a repair shop and don’t like anyone working on my vehicles unless it’s absolutely necessary.
Another is I’m not that familiar on how the vehicle is put together so it’s a learning opportunity.
We fix about 60 water pumps or more a year and have never seen a pump fail at 12k mi. Pretty pathetic if you ask me.

I’ll check on the part number they sold me for the guy who asked about it.

‘17, 10k miles. CPO until 2023 as well. I check fluids religiously and have monitored the coolant level slowly dropping over the last handful of months via the toggle doohickey dipstick. Never any coolant on the ground. Took it in for a couple other non-material things and they replaced under warranty with no questions asked.
will post part number after I pick up the car

FYI I learned the hard way that you need a vacuum coolant filler tool to properly refill the coolant as so many air pockets are formed throughout the system.
Luckily I had a nagging feeling it was going to be problematic and just did a short drive around the neighborhood before the temps began to climb.
