What are the 3 different ways? And after reading about this on so many different threads and forums, my head is spinning. What's different about your Method Sima and the M.I.B. update?

I don't know if you can get the map update with your hardware version 50 without running MIB AIO.
Hi guys, I have successfully used the MIB SD card method for Android Auto activation which worked fine except the sound quality is noticeably inferior compared to the radio tuner / Bluetooth streaming. I presume the radio tuner / Bluetooth streaming is using my Bose EQ settings and Android Auto doesn't / isn't able to? Has anyone experienced this and is there a fix? I'm running the European software version for PCM if it makes a difference. Thanks!
You probably found a fix, but I found that while CarPlay is running (haven't done the hack, but this is while I'm using Otterbox), if you back out to the Porsche home screen and go to audio settings. You should be able to adjust for AA. IIRC, for me, it says CarPlay-audio or something like that. These are different settings than the ones for the "radio". Wonder if this would be the same for AA?
I just finished the install with help from 718socal. A couple of notes. I think the requirement for a minimum 8GB SD card is correct. My 4GB card worked for the install (barely after unpacking the zip file), but the card shows totally full after the backup making me think that I may not have backed up all of the files. Is there a way to check? When I ran the GEM menu, it indicated everything in the backup was "OK", but maybe something still didn't get completed and doesn't show up on the check. Also, I learned that to access GEM menu after the initial install you need ignition on, SD card loaded in slot 1, press physical CAR button, wait a small time holding CAR button and then press physical TUNER button. I was pressing them simultaneously and trying pressing CAR, releasing it and pressing TUNER. Thanks to 718socal for this.

Great it worked out for you. Delete the folder that was created yesterday under backup. You can copy all the files to a 8 GB card and rerun the backup manually.
I've got a 2017 991.2 and I'm pretty excited to try this out as well, but I can't seem to find the files anywhere. Can someone share the link for the files that I need to get on to an SD card?
