It has a switch to swap between carplay and android auto. Wouldn't connect to Android. Tried for 30 mins. I didn't have an apple device device to try.
Thanks I'll check if that ones av available on amazon in Canada.
Not sure if your car is equipped with carplay from the factory. Mine is. If so, you might be able to get away with android only dongle. But not sure. I can't care less about Apple so I haven't even bothered.
Hi guys, I have successfully used the MIB SD card method for Android Auto activation which worked fine except the sound quality is noticeably inferior compared to the radio tuner / Bluetooth streaming. I presume the radio tuner / Bluetooth streaming is using my Bose EQ settings and Android Auto doesn't / isn't able to? Has anyone experienced this and is there a fix? I'm running the European software version for PCM if it makes a difference. Thanks!

What source on AA are you trying to play back through the PCM?
I'm following the detailed instructions for the MIB hack. I have the source files loaded onto my SD card. When I clicked on the link for relevant patch files, it was broken. Do I need these patch files, if so could someone tell me where to find them. Sorry for the crappy attachment. It's a screenshot of the (broken) link to the patches - mib.mibsolution.one

Take a screenshot of your PCM version. If it's supported then you just download and run MIB AIO. No need to patch. Make sure that you extract all the files to the root of your SD card. Watch video on post #56 here

Looks like to get PCM version (I have 2019 991.2), you press source and info buttons together. I have no info button. How do I determine PCM version? Also where do I find list of supported PCMs? Thanks

Go to Settings in the PCM. It should be under Version Info. I am pretty sure yours is supported. Check here
I'm getting ready to finally do the MIB hack to enable Android Auto in my 2019 991.2. I'm very tired of the erratic performance of my Ottocast unit. Battery is fully charged, I'll leave charger hooked up during the process. I have the video to go by:
Ive verified that my PCM version is covered by this FW update:
I've downloaded both of the files listed at the top of the attached screenshot
But Im not sure which one to unzip and put the folders and files in the root directory on my newly FAT32 formatted SD card prior to diving into this somewhat stressful procedure. Any final tips would be appreciated.

Download MHI2_US_POG11_K5186_1_MU1476_AIO_20220723.7z. Unzip all the files to the root of your SD card. Do not just unzip the folder MHI2_US_POG11_K5186_1_MU1476_AIO_20220723. You don't need to copy any patch file.
Thanks @718socal. I didn't know I had to take all the files in all the folders and put them in the SD root directory. Makes sense though, so they're all available during the FW programming.
There are 921 files in 286 folders...
Do I REALLY need to manually move every file out of it's folder into the SD card root directory?
If so, can anyone share a version of it to save me the (long) time to do this?

Yes use Ctrl A then Copy and paste.
Edit. You move the content of the first folder which includes the 921 files and 286 folders to the root of your SD card. That's all you need to do.
