@andy2111 Regarding #1965, I was hoping that this setting is related to amplification of the audio output because my HU is set to "None" and I do not have the audio hiss. But pure speculation, I do not have any hard evidence on this one and I cannot validate my theory because I do not have the hiss.
I think that the setting to control the digital output port is "Digital Output Type" in the DSP Settings screen. But again, best guess.
It's not amplification here. I2S is a serial bus interface used to transfer a digital audio data stream. I suspect that in that setting there are alternatives, such as SPI or TDM. Selecting the appropriate interface will depend on what equipment is sending the data, so I imagine that the designers of the unit have catered for various scenarios. You will also find these types of settings on streamers used for Tidal, Spotify, etc.
The other setting referred to earlier (None, Digital, Analog) is to select between an analog source and a digital source (I believe) although I don't know what 'None' would be for!
With credit given to posters in another forum, a few more codes that give access to factory settings. Explore at your own risks and please post anything useful/interesting you find.

Yeah, there are as many (or more) PIN codes as there are Android units. The unit in my Panamera uses two or three different codes in the same menu, depending on which 'factory' sub-menu you are trying to access. I saved this list from some place on the internet when I first installed that unit:

PIN or Codes for EINCAR and others also try:
Dev options: 7890
Car Extra options: 123456
The common ones I have seen on a lot of units are 8888 and 123456. You can try inputting different codes in the Erisin-style HU and seeing if using a different number to 3368 takes you to different factory menus. NB - some of the menus can be dangerous and user caution is advised!
@ZedZed Sorry, I was not very specific. By "this setting" in my first sentence on post #1776, I was referring to the "Power Amplifier Setting" and not to "Digital Output Type". Agree with you that "Digital Output Type" seems to be a way to select the actual digital interface for output. There is also a screen for digital input. Pictures below.
Regarding "Power Amplifier Setting", your explanation is as good as mine as it is not clear if we are talking about output or input and in both cases "None" purpose is a question mark. And it's not clear at all which selections are actually active in our units. A lot to figure out.

Apologies Chuck - I see what you were saying on re-reading. Regarding the other screens, it appears that the unit has settings for I2S and SPDIF. Again, their use of these terms isn't clear to me. SPDIF is an optical audio format - often people use the SPDIF term to refer to RCA digital ports and Toslink to refer to the 'optical' port, but in reality SPDIF is just name for the interface. I2S is similar but incorporates advanced clock speed sync-ing. I got into this when I built my own streamer for Tidal, but that was a few years back and my recollection of the details is now hazy. One thing is for sure - there is a shedload of stuff to figure out! I hope Andy gets some good feedback from Erisin.
@andy2111 Andy - those ***** I got were too shallow for the spindle. If you remember, would you please post the results of the trial ***** you ordered and let me know which one fits? A benefit of the ***** I tried would have been the larger diameter, which covers up the outer illuminated circle, making it less bling. The light still shines through the **** design itself, so they would have looked great if they had fitted.
Will do Zed. They are still making their way to me from China, I think the estimated delivery is the week after next.
Mine have a larger diameter too for the same reason
I'll also cut the spindles down on the old HU at some point to see what the OEM ***** look like
Thanks Andy. By the time you have received and tried out yours the Chinese NY holiday wll be over and I can order whatever you recommend. I don't dislike the standard ***** - I just want to cover that outer illuminated circle really as I think it's too much. On the Panamera, I installed a Pedal Commander a while back and that is a fantastic (invisible) upgrade, and I am waiting on a carbon fibre steering wheel to arrive. Off-topic here of course, but I may document the steering wheel upgrade in a new thread. Pedal Commander is already covered everywhere, especially YT. This is the wheel:
I especially wanted the steering wheel controls, but I like the carbon fibre as well! The multifunction controls will work with the aftermarket head unit so that is a bonus.

You must be my long-lost brother because I installed Sprint Booster on my 911 and ordered a CF steering wheel a few months ago. Just need to install.
They mentioned that inserting the new PC cards was causing conflicts with standard audio functions, they didn't say which behaviors specifically, but La Jolla Audio has been in business forever with a strong local reputation for high end audio upgrades specializing in exotics and Porsches. I usually trust them just curious of people are having issues or generally happy weighing on whether I should consider another shop or DIY.
Posted some notes in the Macan Mr12Volt PCM 3.1 thread found here, but the short version is that I ordered and installed the Mr12Volt PCM 3.1 kit for my 991.1 7MT GTS with the Burmester system, and couldn't be happier with the results! Ordered from RomanACS, and the installation was relatively painless with a lot of good info in that thread, these forums, and youtube. Works with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto with no issues, sounds great, and the switch to/from the OEM reversing camera works!
The PCM 3.1 has a pretty low-res screen by today's standards, so don't expect any amazing. But it's good enough to run Waze and a music app on the screen at the same time!
