Does anyone else recall that approx 18 months ago they were spouting that MT's were not in their future plans and, as such, were on their last legs. But now they hawking them again as "more driving pleasure".
How many variants of the 991 do we now have?
What's next? Targa Turbo S ?

Don't forget a new Slantnose, in coupe, Cabriolet, and Targa form...

It's a cycle. When the 992 launches with two or three variants, people will bitch about lack of choice.

I often thought about a Poll.... how many NA people are republicans and Turbo people are democrats. We've run out of other things to bicker about with regards to this platform....

Our conservatives are like your democrats. We don't even have a political party insane enough to compare to republicans!

I've never understood the NA -or- turbo argument. All that matters in a driver's car should be FUN, right? Being closed off to turbos is like being closed off to coupes, stick shifts, or AWD....and it's always a bummer when religion gets in the way of faith. Fwiw, I like both NA -and- turbo engines...so long as they are good NA engines or good turbo engines. Examples of the best from each category are rare—and I'd say the 3.0 turbo is a gem. It may not be GT3 epic, but I find it to be a better and more enjoyable engine than the 3.8 in my GT4 (even if I wouldn't mind a bit more voice). YMMV...

turbos have their place and I'm happy for my friends that enjoy them as porsche has made a very nice turbo with the 991.2 carrera.
I daily my GT3 and I have a friend who purchased a 991.2 C2S with SPASM , sports chrono, PSE, and PDK. We switched cars for two full weeks, including a saturday afternoon we spent driving in the mountains.
In the 991.2 C2S, I enjoyed being more under the radar for cops and for parking at various offices. I enjoyed having my full rear window clear of visual obstruction and having a quieter cabin while commuting. I definitely enjoyed the low end torque of the C2S, the thing was a rocket.
I did not like the sound, which was pathetic, and quite like a vacuum, even with PSE, while the GT3 sounds incredible. Lag was less than any other turbo car I've driven other than a 488, but still noticeable compared to the instant linear pull of the GT3.
SPASM was very nice and I felt more locked in than when I had driving a friends 991.2 C2S with the regular PASM, but it felt nothing like the "driving on rails" feeling I get with the GT3 suspension.
Regular PDK has supposed improved with each carrera generation, but it is TERRIBLE compared to PDK-S in the GT3. That drove me insane, each shift was so much slower, and also less intuitive for spirited driving when in auto.
In short, the 991.2 turbo carrera is a great car and is the best RWD turbo sports car on the new car market (other than the 488/Mclarens). I can see why many of my friends like it.
However, I still greatly prefer the NA GT3, and don't ever plan to buy a turbo sports car while my incoming 991.2 GT3 is still functional, as I plan to keep that car for a dozen years.
