Hello,
are you able to share what A/R you’re utilizing on the g30-770 turbos? Will the 1.01 A/R produce 1k whp on the 9a1 engine? Or is the g30-900 0.83 A/R a better choice for 1k whp? Thank you!

Thanks Sam, amazing work. On that note, if anyone is interested in an XR 4liter build and has a stock 991.1tts, I would send the car to the shop of your choice for a side by side swap of all the parts. $50k for everything you pay labor.

Now that is a smoking deal.

Which stroker crankshaft is being used to achieve 4.0L in the 9a1 engine? Is it a custom piece? Or an off the shelf Porsche crank from another car? Thanks!

I think most people wrongfully use the term stroker, when in fact most 4L engines are bored, sleeved and larger pistons are used. For higher horsepower applications (and 4.1/4.2L builds) I think GT3RS crank/heads are used.

Ah,…gotcha. So a GT3RS crank can be used in a 9a1 block? Isn’t a GT3RS engine a mezger? Or will the GT3RS crank work in our block with some work done to it or the 9a1 case? I’m just trying to wrap my head around this as there’s an engine build in my near future,…thank you again,…

I'm not exactly sure what the full build involves, that's just my recollection from random conversations on the topic. My build is a "modest" 4L which only involves boring, sleeving, pistons & rods and produces 1100whp. There aren't many people who build these engines anyway - Emre Levent from ESMotor and John Bray from Evospec. I'm sure either of them will be able to provide more in-depth details on what such a build would involve. Unless you're going for 1200+ whp, I don't think you'd need to touch the heads or crankshaft.
