I am working with Sam on what i want to do next. I have a Europipe 1st generation exhaust which is a top quality build. I am looking for a little more growl out of the exhaust but not over the top so my community and wife are not burning crosses on my front lawn. I was thinking of changing out the exhaust and add the Kline headers. What we have decided is to try the headers first and see if I get a bit more growl and a small oomph with better flow. If I only do the headers it leaves some open to buy on some HP upgrades.
Has anyone done the Kline headers with an exhaust upgrade and what are your impressions? Thanks for any feedback. Sam has been a patient and helpful partner as usual.

This.
Sam and Kline advertise those headers as best headers in market and gains are proven but yet nobody even bothered to do before and after dyno, 60-130, 1/4mile, etc to show us any proven gains.
I would like to purchase the manifolds but until I see the proven results Ill stay stock.
By the way, I also have Europipe but havent installed it yet.
I would never buy headers for the 911 turbo for performance gains, at best you will see marginal additional torque somewhere along the rev band.
Im not looking for performance gains, Im looking for a little more growl from the exhaust and better air flow. If I get the bit of growl Im looking for Ill work on additional hp mods at that time.
Sam and I have already discussed this. I already have a Cobb stage 2 tune.
I will probably have a set of K-Line inconel headers for sale in a month or so.
Penn, Nikolov look at that! I think this will be a great place to start and I have a few guys with EP that enjoy the combo.

Yes Jean I agree. The benefit in the sound department is quite noticeable and nice. Several years ago Porsche of Colorado actually tested pretty strictly for the Pikes Peak car and saw a solid 11-14 wheel hp over stock consistently. And between 30-40 under the curve vs another set. We tested coatings and much more as well. What we realized and was more important to us on the Motorsport side were the benefits in EGT control, recovery and flow as a whole through a clipped turbine. This and feedback/results from gents like yourself is what has gotten us to the top of VTG performance over the years When anyone comes to us for any component we give them the full report and what to expect of course with my personal guarantee.
Like others have said, performance improvement is probably marginal but sound is terrific. Tame at idle and cruise but comes alive at midrange and up top( at least with the Kline exhaust). Going catless only adds more growl 😎. Plus they are a damn nice piece of lightweight workmanship!

I can understand headers with something like the XR kit or other big turbo kits due to the turbine housings, but are you saying that even with 68's, the headers only provide minimal gains over stock manifolds?
Just trying to understand and make the best choices when it comes time to mod.
In case anyone needed more ambiguity, I'll share this anecdote: When discussing the GIAC tune with Champion, I asked about supporting mods including headers, and they advised that on their dyno they measured a performance decrease with two competing brands of headers (not Kline, which is the topic of this thread) on 68mm VTG's. That was enough to scare me off from this mod altogether. My view is I'll upgrade to Kline Inconel headers the day I decide to go XR turbo upgrade, but not before then.
Back on topic, it looks like the feedback is mixed on performance and/or sound gains from Kline headers? At a cost of between $2K for stainless and $5K for inconel, not including labor, I think I'll employ my capital elsewhere.
I have the Kline 200 cell cats headers and exhaust - been on for about two years. I can't comment on how the sound is with just adding headers as i did the all at once. Its a big improvement over stock. But i find it to be a great balance. Screams nicely when you are on it - but flip to normal and its civilized for around town driving or coming home . This picture was taken very recently when I was putting on my new HRE wheels - so 2 years in..
