Sam put Kline headers, 100 cats and Kline exhasut on my car when I got it, other things too, love the headers/cats/exhaust sound, will be doing the same on the 992 tts when it gets here next month. Like with everything the more mods the more performance gains
I don’t think Kline have an exhaust for the 992 yet.
CA has changed their smog procedure. Now there is no more visual inspection or sniffer test; instead, they just read your ECU directly via OBD-II.
For mods that used to fail visual inspection under the old procedure - like cats and headers, this is good news. As long as the ECU check is good - you are good.
However, for mods that used to pass - like ECU flashes - this is bad news. Because CA apparently has access to the same checksum counter that Porsche/OEM has - it can tell if you've flashed your ECU, even if it's currently in stock state - and this is enough to trigger a failure.
Depending on the shop, if they don't have the newer equipment to read your ECU and checksum, they will default back to old-style visual/sniffer test.

This is seriously new news to me...where did you get this?
My understanding is the visual test still applies - they can or often look for aftermarket equipment. I had a SMOG a year ago and they did the OBDII read but still asked me if I had aftermarket exhaust or cats.
Also, are you saying that only full ECU flashes could be a problem, vs a tune from a COBB box?
ETA: this also sounds suspect. What if you bought a used car that HAD a prior ECU flash (but was put back to stock), deliver it to CA...you're saying CA won't smog it because it had previously been flashed?

Foolish...they are losing sight of the end goal. If it passes all of the smog, visual, and safety, what is there left for the owner to do? Could be an out of state pre owned car.

that's a long wait - i feel lucky that i have mine already. I think you're going to be happy with Kline. I have have headers and 200 cell exhaust and i think it sounds great - good blend for a DD that sounds good when you are on it.
The wait is atrocious. My company runs on a 6-7 week lead time, and that is domestic manufacturing, so I get the lead time coming out of Europe. I just am one of the least patient people around.
I am hoping the 100 Cell Cats will have a bit more howl to them. I went with the 70mm SS. Did you do 70mm? Any drone?
