They are a bit “floppy” (move back and forth on the strut) but, installation is the reverse of removal: squeeze, line it up in “the hole” and slide into place.

Sigh... I wish that was the case. It should be exactly what you say but I came for help because it wasn't... I will try to lower the wing a bit and try that again tonight. I'm going to a body shop tomorrow to have a new diffuser installed (I couldn't take out the stock one) anyway so I will ask the guy if I can't figure it out..
Regardless, I love all the help you guys provide. I will keep you posted.
My Turbo’s under a cover, on a four-post buried in the back corner. Basically impossible to get to quickly. Else, I’d go out and fiddle with it fer ya.

You can always take the wing off and put it belly up on a (cloth covered) bench so that you can see what’s up with the trim.

I thank you for even for a thought. It'd be always awesome to work on the car with fellow members.

I already did. Nothing's up. The cover goes in without fight. With the wing installed, many things up. The covers fought me all night. Apparently it has to do with the strut in the mix. Gotta play with the angle like you guys suggest by lowering the wing a bit.
It has been a long 2 weeks since acquisition of the car. I am very happy with the transformation of the look but I didn't get to enjoy having to deal with paint issue and diffuser installation. So many hiccups. I should've just had the shop paint them as a hindsight but well I did it. Other than the side scoop and mirror housing in CF, no more messing with the car for the time being... Hopefully... no promises.. zunsport grill puddle light painted dummy key. not a stellar job as i couldn't take it apart. The crease between black and the shell was not completely blocked off.
I decided to wait on spark plugs as mine has only 26k yet. I didnt take off the intercoolers. It was impossible to get to the 2nd bolt on the heat shield with intercooler on. As I was assembling all back, I couldn't figure out how to put back the wing strut covers... How do I do it? I took the up wing off to try on the covers and they go in fine but with the wing mounted, somehow I just cannot put them on. What is the trick?

Yeah I already posted the question about the covers. But I found the solution. I took them down multiple times since that and have no more problem.
We did about 320 miles yesterday!! My 3rd time to the mountains in about a week and a half. 1300 miles in that time. Two trips to the Tail of the Dragon. Both in the S2K though.
Yesterday and today, 850 miles of the best CA curvies with my buddy david, who can be found in the 997 forum. Skyline Blvd, Hwy 25 out of Hollister, Hwy 198 to Coalinga, Hwy 33 to Ojai, Hwy 58 (Nirvana) to McKittrick, back up 25 to Hollister. EPIC
