Airfilter change, suspension and tire check, spark plug change and new diffuser installation.
well i failed on spark plug and diffuser. Stock diffuser wouldnt come out. Those tabs are just insane...
Access to spark plugs are very securely blocked by many parts... i gave up.. i couldnt find any video on 991 tts spark plug job in youtube. Well i thought i did and it wasnt what i saw...sad...
by the way, im debating if i want to paint the up wing black as i just painted gt3 side skirts and diffuser black.. it has PPF on it so i am wondering if plasti dip is worth a try so i can remove the dip any time when the time comes..

I agree with the plasti dip solution.

That gives me motivation! By the way anybody know if plasti dip yellows the PPF? I searched online and a person mentioned it.

I never heard of that. But, then again, I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night either. LOL

We did about 320 miles yesterday!! My 3rd time to the mountains in about a week and a half. 1300 miles in that time. Two trips to the Tail of the Dragon. Both in the S2K though.

Few pics from yesterday.

When we did my spark plugs, we had to remove the I.C.'s and even then it was a challenge to get the one coil out / in on the drivers side. I took some pics of mine when we did it. Can't remember if I shot vid or not.

It can be done but you just need to remove some significant stuff to make it fairly easy to get to.

These pics show the rear drivers side coil and how it needs to be "clocked" to get it out / in. Again, we too the IC's off to make them way easier to get to.

That one coil on the driver's side is a real beast. And the intercooler definitely needs to come off, which really isn't that big a job. We left the intercooler in place on the right side. It was a bit more work than my 997.2 C4S, but not too bad.

Actually in this thread…

Start here: https://rennlist.com/forums/991-turb...l#post18126718

to post 4967. (And a few related relevant posts after.)

It’s not a ‘procedure’ but, interleaved with the usual, is some discussion of what you need to do for the plugs and what you will find.

What you do (remove):
- engine compartment fans
- tail lights
- rear wheel well liners
- rear wing assembly
- rear apron
- intercooler assemblies
- heat shields for coils
(no doubt some things I forgot.)

You will find:
- it sucks, but once done you see that it’s not that bad. Electric 1/4” ratchet is nice (for disassembly, never for assembly.)
- lot’s of motor oil in the right-side intake tract (from turbo section hose to engine throttle body.)

I decided to wait on spark plugs as mine has only 26k yet. I didnt take off the intercoolers. It was impossible to get to the 2nd bolt on the heat shield with intercooler on. As I was assembling all back, I couldn't figure out how to put back the wing strut covers... How do I do it? I took the up wing off to try on the covers and they go in fine but with the wing mounted, somehow I just cannot put them on. What is the trick?

If your Turbo never sees salt (e.g. you never, ever drive on salted roads and you don’t live within 20-ish miles of the ocean) then waiting for a year or three after the four-year recommended interval is fine.

If it does see salt, you need to do it at four years.

My Turbo sees no salt. CarChick’s 991S gets driven in the winter. Thus how I know the above is a good rule of thumb.

Are you referring to the little plastic covers that he removes at like the 1:03 mark???

I never see any snow in my neck of the woods in SoCal so no salt.
Here is what I was referring to:
