The 991 Turbo is back together, pressure holding super tight and with some new go-fast parts... Got to take a mountain blast today with some Porsche buddies, swapped off in some very different cars! 1968 911 L, 2021 992 GT3, and my 2014 991 Turbo S.
The GT3 was a freaking scalpel, steering and turn in were amazing. Manual transmission is buttery smooth. Power over 4.5K comes on nicely, but OMG the Turbo felt like an absolute rocket after swapping back in. The L is totally engaging to drive, you feel *everything* and is very rewarding when you do everything right...
Nice - I haven't driven a 992 GT3.. Any more thoughts? I have driven the 991.2GT3RS on the track. Definitely where it shines. Makes our TT's feel a little luxurious and "soft" but when you punch it - its not slow - but its not like a Turbo in that regard. Definitely horses for courses. One is not better than the other. You need both. But if you can only have one - The Turbo is it.

Agree with everything above... Also keep in mind that much of our driving is at 7,000'-10,000', where NA cars are giving up 25% plus of their sea level power. Turbos loose a bit too, but not nearly as much, and they have bucket-loads more torque and horsepower to start with.
Out again today! Hit some snow in the mountains and had to turn back, but fun twisties with some very cool air cool cars and a very well sorted Audi TTRS...
My sister flew into Knoxville, my brother drove the 997 down from Pittsburgh and us three tackled a few hundred miles of amazing TN and NC roads. So much fun running the 6sp 997 back-to-back w/the 991TT.
Def PM me if you care for some company when you go! We got there relatively late for a Saturday (10am) and it was still a low traffic, fun spirited drive.
Forgot the best one. Best pullover experience ever...never thought I'd be chatting with a cop on the side of the road about how much we hate that the turbos are no longer offered in manual.
Maintenance time…
plugs and coils. Took a friend and myself 3 hours start to finish. That included 30 mins of figuring out how to get the car on his lift.

Yep, ... that "Tree of shame" reminds us that we're not as bullet proof as we think we are.
Great day for a ride. Front end killed some bugs while driving to check out some marinas and cabins in northeast TN for some upcoming weekend fishing trips.
