No kidding, Jan/Feb of 2021 Spyder's were available for MSRP or very slight discount of a couple grand.
Hmmm.... I'm too lazy to check, but I wonder if that "sweet spot" coincided with the last of the con-rod replacement 4.0s getting 'fixed.?" I know there were some folks that refused/passed delivery their 4.0s due to that. In any case, musta been a couple of dealers that were desperate.

On the 718 forum a number of folks reported paying ADM on allocations and/or dealer-spec'd on-lot 4.0s during that time frame. More than a few dealers are ignoring wait lists and specing 4.0s with many tens-of-thousands of dollars of options to pad the price and then, when they arrive adding ADM and calling the folks on the list with a take-it-or-leave it offer.

Well, in any case, we got ours and now we're done with cars until the Macan is used up. That'll probably be 2030.

Back to Turbos...

Another day. Put in a gt3 **** to match the new wheel and so the new shift pattern was accurate. This weekend will figure out the next task

Pulled apart the rear end this evening... Sam thinks I might have a small boost leak, but so far nothing evident on a visual inspection.

Has anyone here personally pressure tested a 991 Turbo? I've done it dozens of times on 996 Turbos, but all the hoses with built-in 0-rings and clips makes it a bit more challenging to hook up a test rig to the 991. I think I could fairly easily connect to the y-pipe inlet which would test much of the system, but would bypass several hoses, the intercoolers, and it also looks like that would bypass the diverter valves which I really do want to test.

Welcome any thoughts and suggestions!

A smoke gun would be very helpful if you have checked all of those tiny , pesky pressure lines that are at the center of the intake and go to the diverter valves. If all of those are properly seated, tie wrapped and solid, a smoke gun would be an asset.

1. Met a fellow Turbo (.1 Turbo Stage 3) RL'er this morning, quite by accident, at a local Piazza Granturismo (Westlake Village, CA) car N coffee type event. Nice to meet you Jake.

2. Tried my first real Dragy run in my car which now has a @SamboTT@ByDesign tune (991.2 non-S Turbo with no mods other than suspension and Cup 2's)

Default 991.2 Turbo S w/ Full Bolt-ons

I thought I would share our experience modifying our 991.2 TT S - We just wrapped up a full bolt on upgrade to our 991.2 Turbo S, comprised of the following components: IPD plenum, IPD Y-Pipe, SpeedTech 2.5" IC TO YP upper boost hoses, SpeedTech Intercoolers with 2.5" in/out, turbo to IC 2.5" lower boost hoses, APR diverter valves, SpeedTech GT2 RS Style valved exhaust with full 3" X-Pipe default/cat dump open and then a custom tweaked GIAC tune with optional 100 octane file was uploaded (previously we had the special Champion stage 2 file - this is a tweaked version of that file). Additionally, a DSC active suspension control module was installed and we custom crafted push button control of the valved exhaust. Upon driving the car, the results were exactly what we had hoped for and in one word - wow! There is more power and very direct response everywhere. You can hear and feel the added air flow working, the car feels so much better to drive and packs a much more powerful punch at all RPM's. It drives perfectly. We did a similar full 2.5" intake track with our 996 turbo back in the day, designed all the components and achieved outstanding results, so we mirrored that build. With a second thriving business, I decided to pass on designing the Y-Pipe for this car and just went with something existing, allowing me more time to concentrate on other things.

OK, so the million dollar question - Many people wonder if these mods are worth the money, all I can say is "absolutely"! To me, it is certainly worth it and I am so glad we pursued it. The car has been transformed to a much better, much more responsive machine. If you are looking for improved performance, with the added torque, the wheels break loose like never before, adding a very enjoyable, more involving aspect to operating the car when pushed hard. Frankly, the sum of these parts made more of a difference than I was expecting. It feels like the former car is on serious steroids. Here are a few pictures - I was away for much of the install process, so the pictures are limited to what my tech supplied to me.

Components laid out - less valved exhaust already installed
