But, upon further refection, it could be cloaked...

Let’s get this back on track.

It’s about time to uncloak and lower the Turbo

Thanks. One of these days when I don’t have a two-year backlog, I’ll build-out the second floor and finish the walls.

No worries. I think I’ve found a home for it. Local kid (i.e. under 35) that does custom VW builds. He has a modern-tech built VAG 2.0 liter powertrain on a stand waiting for a chassis to put it in.

Oh, good - thank you COVID and lack of cross border access.

Nice Spyder. Should have pulled the trigger when they were abundant and going for under MSRP.

When was that? Not in my recollection as far as 718 Spyders go. First batch of allocations was late 2019 and then the $h1+ show started. I am not aware of anyone reporting delivery of a Spyder under MSRP. For the last year or so, for the most part, ADM is required to secure either an allocation or one on the lot (and those are very far and few between) unless you are a local repeat non-flipping customer. $20k to $40k ADM is common and folks are paying it. $50k to $100k ADM on the 718 GT4 RS slots.

I put the deposit down in the summer of 2019 with a hand-shake MSRP agreement for June 2020 ED. Then, ‘cause $h1+ show, skipped that allocation for May 2021 ED, then skipped again for Fall, then skipped again for CXX. Without the added CXX delay this one would have been on the Felicity Ace.

Beginning of 2021. Jan/Feb. There were handfuls in CA and NY for sale. One dealer in California offered 2k off MSRP before I bought my TTS.

Huh. You sure they weren’t used? ‘cause right now, even used Spyders are going for MSRP +/-.

Brand new! I'm aware that they're going for way more now. It must have been a sweet spot window.. Just like a delivery mile full PPF 6MT GT3 with 190k MSRP I passed up on for 155K, and that 720s.

No kidding, Jan/Feb of 2021 Spyder's were available for MSRP or very slight discount of a couple grand.
