Default Zane sport grills

ZunSport grills purchased for my 991 Turbo.

I don’t have the car yet but as soon as I get it I will put the grills on. I want to say that I was nervous ordering the grills from England. However to my astonishment they showed up in three days after I placed the order. They had great customer service because I had to make sure that it fit my car by emailing them a few times. They were very responsive. A forun member told me that he got the wrong ones and had to send them back. Their website isn’t the greatest but it is navigable. Everything worked out well so far.

If your curious if the Quick Jack 7000TLX fits.. I purchased the large one so I could work on my Lifted Tacoma as well. Fits and lines up with the Porsche 991 TTS lift points.

#199 - wife has a Cricut.. custom numbers for the PCA driving events against the clock. (991 backwards.. and I'm a Travis Pastrana fan.)

928s are so easy. I think I resent having to be fully awake to work on the Turbo.

LoL.

About fours hours to get to here from turning on the key to put the spoiler in service mode, lifting, wheels off, etc. Next time probably an hour faster.

While it's kinda ridiculous to have to dig my way to plugs, I will give the 991 one thing (at least) over the 928: An electric ratchet is actually useful where as on the 928 it's almost always hand tools 'cause there's not space or angle for an electric ratchet.

Of course, the right-side charge tube was full of oil. FFS, Porsche's been effin'-up crank case breathing since the 70s. After 50 years you'd think they'd have figured something out. Time to search through the forum for palliative measures.

Installed some of the newer ByDesign inlets. Great quality and fitment, only minor trimming needed.

Porsche has figured it out... There are different Porsche Motorsports versions of air-oil separators that evidently are much more effective particularly when driven hard. Perhaps too much of a hassle to get agency approvals, or too much additional cost to throw on every car, so we get the compromised versions.

Also seems to be a pretty common issue across the industry, particularly with turbocharged engines where slop gets re-introduced with much more plumbing downstream that collects the oily mess. My 150 ecoboost engine has the same exact issue.

Not topping off your oil seems to help more than anything else.., Dealer did replace a check valve on my right turbo inlet as well that they claimed contributed to the problem on my car (not sure if it actually did). Beyond that, catch cans, which sometimes help, sometimes don't, and require draining.

Probably less of an issue on the 911 turbo, but catch cans can also cause issues in freezing weather... in addition to catching excess oil, they also catch and covert to liquid water lots of water vapor which otherwise would go through the plumbing and engine fairly cleanly. If this freezes in the catch can, well, not ideal.

Huge variety today... 991 Turbos, RS, GT3, 458 and a Speciale, 12C, handful of other 911's... oh, and a 365 GTS Daytona Spyder.

Yes, the Daytona is very cool.

Love the background in this pic with the caboose and snow capped mountains. Is that an old train depot?

Nederland, CO. A relocated caboose and couple of train cars, but not a depot.
