so after observing this a little closer, I now see there are no fake socket head bolts in these new black replacement bezels, is this particular to the black ones ore particular to a certain part number ? I certainly can do without the fake bolts.
As far as I know, It's just particular to the PN which are the black Macan switches. Someone posted you could just repaint the silver ones, but I'm with you, I can't handle the fake bolts.. Actually they're real bolts with lock nuts on the back, they just don't do anything.

thanks for the info, sure you could paint them but I suspect the black versions are plated like the silver as they are subject to high wear.
real bolts ! Only the Germans would do that !
Sorta cool in a way but silly in another !

I was thinking the same thing when I saw them, they could have easily just molded heads into the plastic, but they went the extra mile and installed "real" fake bolts.. 😂

Good luck out there. I ran into an F8 tributo yesterday driving like a maniac... to my surprise my car was easily pulling on it. Thought those things were much faster.
Nothing against the F8 Tributo,, But I see the new C8 Corvette

After observing this a little closer myself, I only just realized that while the standard 991.2 wheel with or without multifunction controls (I think MF controls is an option) has the silver plastic inserts with bolts (are they real bolts that don't actually secure anything? I'm still not sure what you guys mean by that), my OEM issued carbon fiber 991.2 steering wheel (also an optional item) does not have any bolts - see picture below.

So, if you wanted a carbon fiber 991.2 wheel you could order one and it would come with the black plastic inserts and no bolts - link to Suncoast: https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/991G2CFSWD.html
My 2017 911 Turbo carbon fiber steering wheel (factory option) looks like yours - no Tsukuba screws.

The wheel with the "screws" is the GT Sport steering wheel. It's smaller in diameter. You cannot get the Carbon wheel in the GT sport size unfortunately.
Also, I believe only the 991.2 GT cars get the wheel with the black inserts and not the metal look. I also believe the Macan gets the all black inserts too.
