So, after giving the 991 some much needed love, I have made two discoveries ...
One, the third brake light seems to be missing a chunk of lens, and two, I appear to have bent a rim.
In both cases, I am not sure when this occurred - the lens, or body, does not show any impact around it, and I am pretty sure I would have noticed driving over something hard enough to bend the rim.
First world problems for sure, but irritating nonetheless....
You must've hit that pot hole that damaged your rim and chipped your brake light lens while doing 100 mph in reverse.
Oh no, say it ain't so....
Am I going to be the only one left with the 4x4 look?
Please let me know what how they feel and post pics, if you go down that rabbit hole I may follow.
I'm ok with the stock ride height on the 991 Turbo S.
The 996 Turbo, however, had ridiculously large gaps in NA configuration...
H&R sports and Bilstein B8's took care of that, Apex wheels and GT2 tire specs didn't hurt either.

Turbo S for comparison... Would look better a bit lower for sure, but not terrible like the 996 was.
Near as I can tell, 99.99% of folks that lower do it “because cool looking” and need to “close the gap.”
Why not just engineer some 1/2” wide arc-shaped fender skirts that clip on, or bolt to existing fastener locations for the wheel well liners so as to “close the gap.”

It was good enough for our 911’s grandpappy.
My dad had a 1963 black bug he brought over from Germany and would consider this an abomination.
928 with ride height exactly at the lowest permissible as per WSM. “Closing the gap” on a ‘90+ 928 is especially “interesting” since the engine oil cooler is sandwiched underneath the front crush structure and the lower plastic lip of the front air damn. It is the lowest component and the first to take damage when the front bottoms or you run through a deep (3”) pothole.
How much is the 991TT pneumatic front lip assembly? Whatever it costs, it’s cheaper than 10.5 quarts of 928 engine oil on the ground.

Absolutely agree on the 996 - originally, it was a 4x4 over achiever.
With the 991, however, it truly needed to be lowered - I felt the lines of the body were horribly interrupted by the gap, particularly at the front - looked very disproportionate to me. A DSC helped too.
Well on the whole lowering issue...I say "to each his own" as we all have our own personal plans for our Turbo's
I have owned a lot of fast cars over the years and some I lowered and some I just bought wheels with more aggressive offsets that filled in the gap and gave the car the stance I was looking for.
I purchased my Turbo the way it currently sits which is lowered on H&R springs and aftermarket Strasse mono-block 21in wheels with 325 rear tires. I love the stance of this car and I never plan too track the car (have done track events in the past and now just not my thing). I will admit without seeing how this car sits I am not sure I would have gone this route if I bought it stock...but now that I see it and drive it this way I would have done this 100%.
And not that I am an attention ***** or anything like that but this car gets TONS of compliments at every Cars & Coffee event I attend...to me it just makes for a great conversation piece as everyone wants to know the set up and then they always say that they love the stance and then want to take a picture of the car...LOL
Just my 2 cents and experience on the whole matter
