LOL...not funny but I remember palm leaves on one of my earlier runs. I launched and was hauling *** and looked up the runway and was like "WTF is that in the runway"??? So I started to slowly adjust my path as to not kill my speed with a sudden movement and blew by it. It looked like they cleaned it off later?

I loved that burn-out box back when I owned a Hellcat...but I get your point. When they try to pull me up directly behind a car in the burn-out box I just stay back. they will wave for me to pull up and I just put my hand up that I am good and then wait for the burn-out to get done along with all the smoke...and then move up. I am not doing a burn-out so I am not in a hurry to pull up.

Had the vehicle recoated with Modesta and had the wheels powder coated OEM Satin Black for a little change. Again, huge shout out to Nick at Oakes Detail for knocking it out of the park again!! Nice Job Nick! Enjoy, Jose

Had an epic turnout to our (usually fairly small) "Saturday Morning Twisties"... I think everyone wanted to get some driving in before the roads become snowy and/or sandy.

What a fantastic group of cars and drivers! We had an F40, 458, 930 Flachbau, 992 GT3, 991 GT3, 991 GT3 Touring, 991 Turbo S, 991 Targa, several 993's, Gallardo, R8 V10, and A80 Supra... So awesome to see some of these rare cars being driven the way they where intended to be!

The 930 has a nice hue to it; looks good beside your TTs. I see it was a euro car at one point.

Agree... it's gorgeous.

Factory color, factory stripes, factory slant-nose. Also an incredibly rare no-pop-up headlight version, I think less than 50 made?

I talked to Tony also...that was the worse track conditions I have ever seen at Gila Bend. And I heard that in the drivers meeting he said they swept the runway...huh? When? Last week? LOL

It was so dusty that even with AWD I was spinning off the line. Plus the conditions (wind and humidity) were not the best for good speeds. Everyone in the pits was complaining about being 3-5 mph slower than normal but then again it could be their new timing equipment???

For instance I have run there for years and I was thinking my car should have been a 160mph car...but with the conditions my best run was 157.89mph. Not unhappy but hoping cooler weather at December NFZ and with a decent launch I think 160mph is doable???

Hope to see you there!
160 has to be doable. My 3.0 991.2 GTS ran a 157mph there on exhaust and protune.

Intake Air Temperatures were 129f just simply staging and waiting in line. That with 0 runs and my car cooled off for over 30 minutes. Temperatures weren't high but that sun was just intense. My intake air temps never got that high in the city in 115f+ weather. From my knowledge these cars retard timing at 104f and drastically cut power at 124f+. Temps actually increased when I shut the car off while in line. Wish we had intercooler water sprayers build into these cars like the GT2RS.

Not sure how many were made, I recall, if not mistaken, that it was an option (slant nose) in the mid to late eighties, but I thought that one was (is) a more rare version.

Any idea on power output?

I love Porsche, but I'll take the F40!!

Only thing better would have been an 288 GTO!!

Me too... Still have the pic.
The 90's and it was at a dealer here in ATL, listed for $375K.
Now they're $1.5-2 Million.
