Picked up a new playmate today for the TTS and TT...

2021 C8 'Hard Top Convertible' (HTC) Z51 sport pack.

First impressions in three hours of ownership?
  • Looks fantastic, and much better in person than pictures typically capture.
  • Amazing what GM can deliver for the price point.
  • It gets a stupid amount of attention for a $75K car.
  • The car is in GM's torque-limited break-in mode for the first 500 miles, but I'm afraid it's going to feel a bit pokey swapping off with the Turbos.
  • Need some nice canyon drives to really get a feel for what it will be like.

Very curious how you compare forward and aft visibility vs the 911 ???? I had a C7ZO6 and it sucked vs the 911. My C5 was pretty good. Hopefully the C8 is good too.

I installed the console and Sport Chrono memory modules from Tdesign9

Now the car remembers the last driving mode I was in, and more importantly, auto/start/stop - *** - will stay off until the end of time

First Mod I did when I bought the car. You can select the *** off/on on my M cars. Porsche should adopt that feature.

*** freaked me out the first time it kicked in when I got my TTS. I thought there was a problem.
So here's my equation - spend a little more for gas - or replace a (supposedly) expensive starter..........no brainer. NO ***. lol.

I think you should start a basic comparison thread (rather than bury it in this one) to give us an overall view of how you like the car, what it does good and not so good, and how it compares overall with a 991 Turbo in terms of fit and finish, drive quality, etc.
I would like to see one so I could compare interior and exterior quality to the 991 but have yet to see one up close and personal.
Some of the owner images I have seen of the C8's have created a few questions for me.

Sold mine (at the top of the market) to get my turbo. It was a great car, but no 911. +$34K profit encouraged the change. Like both, but tthe Porsche is the better car..

For me, it's definitely not 'instead of', but wether to keep it in addition too... But +$34K and parlaying it into a 991 Turbo is a no brainer.

Will do... It's only been a bit over 24 hours, so I'm still gathering thoughts on it. I did put in a nice 130 mile drive in some twisties this morning though!

Certainly nothing wrong with your approach and I appreciate hour general opinion of the C8.
Kind of wish I had bought one and done the same, there was some $$ to be made with the right trim level.

I'm certain I'm not the only one who will benefit from your review.
Gotta hit that 500 mile point for it to wake up a bit, from what I've read elsewhere.
