On the 991.1 it's all in the factory tune. On the 991.2 the turbo's are different, fuel pressure is higher and a few other things.

For a standard Turbo, that's probably about right. The Turbo S has PCCB's and other options that make it higher priced for sure.

If it's in your budget, Go Turbo S!!

HI Jim,

I’m new to Porsches. Recently got the wife a CPO 981 Cayman GTS. Fun car. Now I’ve got the bug. Want my own. Thought I was looking for a CPO 991.1 TTS until I read your post. Aware that the difference between many S and GTS models has been a factory tune... but surprised this is the case on the 991.1TTS vs. 991.1TT. Wow. So... are there any other differences (eg factory options on TTS that would have “cost more” when purchased on the TT)? Wondering why I would go TTS vs. TT if buying a 991.1? Maybe I go silly and look at the 991.2TTS? Thoughts?

thx,
Dennis

Feel free to reach out anytime I would be glad to share more and help with anything I can.
We need to see a e85 991.2 vs a stage 4 991 1

Nice chat big. I do think that if you can the .2 was the way to go. Both amazing but just natural progression.

According to our Dyno testing a 991.1 stage 4 on 100 octane would probably be right there with a .2 TTS on ethanol. However, because of the aerodynamics and other nice progressions Porsche has made I think the new car can do more with it. Soon we will get to try but I think they can run nine seconds with basically a stage III package on ethanol for example. Going to be really exciting when the tuning software comes out which will be soon!

Engine wise what is the difference between the 991 2 turbo and turbo s? I know the s has larger turbos but do they both share the same injection system that can utilize e85?

Good question the engine internals are the same from what we know. GT2RS is bumped a bit and has some different components.

There are 2 CPO 2017 Turbo S's in West Palm that are $153k (sapphire blue 12,000 miles) and $159k (racing yellow 6000 miles).
