GT2 RS has not been announced by PAG,
much less allocated to dealers. And PTS
slots on such a model will be the last thing
anyone will find out. We are not there yet
on either score!

The fellow who posted this 'ad' just moved
to Miami from Lagos & doesn't yet know we
here in America are too smart to fall for these
cheesy scams. So give a break to the newbie!

Heh, I'm the one who got forwarded that GT2 RS ad on Posh that went up on Jalopnik. We've since updated it with a bit of info from a dealership we called to ask about when/if allocations were even out yet.
Nope! Not even to 918 buyers, apparently.

Thanks for the responses. I guess my question is how to get onto the list for the next "918" whatever that will be called.
The way I understand it, there are two categories of allocations.
Production, where the dealers decide where the allocations go. (GT3, GT3RS etc.)
Special, where Porsche decide who gets the allocations (911R, Exclusive turbo, GT2rs etc)
Canada must have some sort of list, which is similar to the VIP program in The US. My dealer got me a GT3 allocation, and is "guaranteeing" me a .2 GT3RS when it comes out, but can not commit to the exclusive turbo or the next"918".

I'm sorry but that's not how it works.
There are no difference between special allocations between GT3RS and GT2RS, or even a 911R for that matter.
They are all just a numbers game (how many are built), they are making much more GT3 and GT3RS than GT2RS and Turbo S Exclusive. Most dealers may only get 1 GT2RS and many dealer will not even get 1 Turbo S Exclusive. A dealer does not want to promise a customer anything that they may not even get. And obviously if a dealer only think they will get one, they may have more valuable client that wants it before you, so hence can't promise you it.
Porsche does not decide who gets the GT2RS besides the very small VVIP pool.

just saw this. Some decent quotes: we are not a hedge fund...

Now they say..... "We are not a hedge fund"
I always thought PAG is a hedge fund! They did not make the disclaimer clear before! Now they say! good to know!
No wonder those 911R people yelling at them. "Why did you not tell us PAG is not a hedge fund before?"

On a more serious note,
Unfortunately it does not look like PAG will be doing much enforcing or cracking down on the US market. From what I heard they'll be following a bit more closely on other European markets.
PCNA are doing some small cracking down but probably not the way you want it. They are really coming down on the hammer a lot harder on the 918 VIPs and VVIPs that turned it around too fast. Many of those people are booted from the 918 program and VVIP list this year.

They are doing something for sure. I had a call from my dealer. He said PCNA wanted to confirm that I still have my 911R (which of course I do). I was surprised they are doing it this way instead of simply checking carfax.

Very very interesting and good on Porsche! Although what if you decided you didn't really like the 911R and you sold it. Should that be help against you? Tough scenario.
