Mooty, I just saw this... I am sorry...get well soon.
CN36. vs. Vredestein? Why such a price difference? I’m poor, leaning towards Vred but I have never seen them.

I know u are broke
my transport is on its way to u. it will bring u two sets of cn36 and pick up a certain e36m3. it’s not a porsche u don’t need it

ok
vrestein vs cn36 vs CR6ZZ (avon)

I know many like vredestein. the tread is period correct. but they are for cruising. my dually’s tires can grip better. I got it on a past 72. as far as i’m concerned they are garbage

cn36 has period tread MUCH better performance. I take this over above any day at any price. e30 325E vs e30m3 kind of delta. I driven this tire on spyerX 71 2.7L car. i did push but not as hard as I would push my own. the grip was there and very confidence inspiring

avon CR6ZZ: same price as cn36 and the tread is also somewhat period. some say they don’t do well in wet. I have driven them wet. no problem. and u won’t be driving in torrential downpour anyways so no worries there. to me they have the best grip. I have them on my 914/6 and 911T and friend’s 911E. I would push them right to the edge of responsible street driving limit. no prob. all my old cars as long as this tire is available in the size , it is my first choice. the break away characteristic is very smooth and predictable as well.

Glad you caught this Mooty. This is nothing to mess with. As usual your candor and character shine through. You are an inspiration sir. Take it easy and enjoy your holidays. You’re fortunate to have a Mrs. who is an MD.

^^Thanks Mooty...tomorrow I will order CN36 or Avon. Spyrex gave me contact in SoCal. My 72 will be ready in one year.
E30 is yours, come on out. I have many old cars. All yours.

Avon or CN36 no contest. Ya they are expensive but they are the best for these cars. More than just grip the FEEL right. Having driven mine and mootys with Avon’s they are quite similar. I think Avon may have a bit more grip. Both are very progressive. And they just look and feel proper.

luckily just pre patella, nothing on joints, bones, blood stream!

learned a lot about medical community. the good docs are REALLY good.
I'm glad to hear the details look good at this point. Hope you have a smooth recovery and the people bringing you food have good taste!

Can't sleep - checking RL and catching up on the Mooty thread which got me googling MRSA, unfortunately. Boof - Not something to mess with! Glad your wife forced you into old Stanford OR! she could have left it alone and would be done with paying for your Porsche hobby forever. That's love right there!

I have lots of crutches at home if you need a set. And while you enjoy the Stanford pudding - I Can drive your cars so they don't sit - high RPMs on Welch Rd. so you can enjoy the sound from your room. Get well soon hope you have good looking nurses taking care of you.

Man, THAT is a big deal, and a total bummer....glad you're on the mend if.
If it makes you feel any better...I had total knee replacement surgery a month ago, and even tho I can now drive....(my Volvo...) I can't get in or out of my 72S, GT3...or GT2RS.....I guess I could've comprised and gotten 18 ways on the GT cars...but how pointless is THAT?

Anyway, knee surgeries are a BIG deal. Get well soon.....I'm looking forward to doing the same. Itching to DRIVE>>>>>>>>

selling my white tarmac $6600 new was $11000
black venge $7500 new $12500

inc new tires
inc LOOK KEO pedals
NO water bottle cage
oem der pulley NOT ceramic speed big pulley

neither been crashed yet

venge is all DA Di2 with s work power crank (power meter)

tarmac is all DA Di2 with DA crank and DA power
meter

BOTH SETS OF CRANK ARMS ARE SCRATCHED DUE TO HEEL CONTACT; FUGLY BUT NEVER SLOWED ME DOWN

both are 52cm so rider usually would be 5'-10" to 5'-5”
most ppl ride one size too big for them if they are sized by bike shops.

while Mooty was packing wounds and spacing out on pain killers.... i was eating.

Today drove up to LA to satisfy a buddies obsession with Ferrari’s.
me. It’s Porsche’s and food
so hit Standings Butchery
on weekends they setup a flat top grill on the sidewalk and serve burgers ground fresh in the shop
order. Pay. Wait. Eat standing up. Standings. Lol
they are insane. Super simple and all about the patty.
yum.
and picked up a rib eye and a couple sausages. Fennel and miso & kaki (persimmon).
All were fantastic.
side of sauté cippolinni onions, potato, charred Brussel sprouts.
