well after a freak week of swollen knee for no apparently reason, 5 days of iv antibiotic they decided to chop me open

after surgery today i’m hungry

post op
they asked if I wanted apple juice
pudding
dinner

so i asked for three dinners

8 apple juices and 4 pudding

rubber chicken for once tasted good

still alive and kicking

ur likely not much driving or cycling until 2020

meanwhile
im taking donation to mooty dinner and dessert fund.

i’ll be resting a few months alright !
just packed my own surgical wound. they left open to help (i’m not MD don’t ask me why)..... I almost fainted. next round the MD wife will do the packing I will just shut my eyes

Yikes! Glad they discovered the problem and you're past the worst of it. Infection is nothin to mess with!
I would have problem packing open wound. I’m fine as long as I can do it blindfolded.

I'm just grateful u didn’t post pics of the open wound!

MRSA is no joke, awful if spreads to bloodstream, sounds like that’s not the case thankfully and the docs are zapping/draining the bugs right outa ya!

As your wife knows since she’s an MD, MSRP in a joint, or anywhere for that matter, is not to be taken lightly. Do whatever your Orthopod and Infectious Disease consultants tell you to do/don’t do.

60 hours after swelling we did all the blood work
cultured the knee and before results back general IV antibiotic started. can’t remember the name. two days after that dacto (sp?) started.

we got ID into the loop since day 1

all indicators show it’s localized whew.

luckily just pre patella, nothing on joints, bones, blood stream!

learned a lot about medical community. the good docs are REALLY good.
