I was in the doc office when moms PICC line was removed after a month of
IV antibiotic. Yikes! Had no idea what it was until it was out (longer than one
might think is possible) and while mom didn’t react at all I didn’t look away fast
enough. I’m a true wimp when it comes to gross stuff (although when my Dad
was in ICU after open heart surgery both my sisters fainted and I stayed on my
feet...). That was probably my upper limit.
oh if u are scare of PICC line then no pictures. it makes PICC line look like mickey mouse happy tail.

the IR doc was GOOD. literally 1-2 min all done.

“ok u ready ? a little sting when I give u numbing shot. 1-2-3 ok ... how u doing. blah blah. turn toward me a bit ... ok done bro... see u later “


I have to say that despite the mean jokes I crack about the medical profession, most the docs and nurses (most not all) are really nice and funny. they prolly think i’m nuts too; asked for 8 puddings and two dinner trays them asked them to just bring me
the entire fridge. after surgery I think i was still half dazed I looked at the nurse “well, I can’t move my arms. arent u going to feed me those puddings?”

she did

then I asked “pls feed faster. i’m hungry...”
apparently other patients are not as off the wall.

Damn I don’t check this thread for a couple of weeks and find out your knee fell apart. I was feeling sorry for myself with a broken hip and being on a walker for 12 weeks.

Get well soon infections are no joke.

yes never had infections
now I wash everything and wipe everything with alcohol wipe. this is NOT fun

Gonna get our first rain of the season in the Bay Area today.
Could see some snow on local peaks with the temps plunging.
