Count me as one more who is glad to see this package out there for those who are interested, having recently spent a couple of days in the "regular" .2 GT3 MT and 991R back to back. Not so sure about the Touring badge or the lack of back seats, but those are personal preferences. I'm sure these will sell—and it will be very interesting to see the take rate.

I'm glad for the touring package offering and choice. I can entirely appreciate this option for those that dislike, for whatever reason, the rear wing. On the other hand if the rear wing is not an issue, as the package currently stands, especially without rear seats, what is the point?
On the issue of aesthetics, from the images released today, IMO the rear of the wingless touring package GT3 just doesn't look right nor does it have the presence that the "normal" GT3 has. Just my opinion... which may change once I see it for real

I'm definitely switching up my order for this Touring PKG. Love that it resembles the 911R look and is a more subdued looking/street version GT3.
As soon as us Canadians get the chance from our SAs then I'll update the thread.

I think they haven't done too bad a job providing more choice. Yes unfortunately not going to satisfy everyone. Personally if the no PTS is real, then I need to toss up how important my PTS colour is to me. It could have been worse ... much worse. Imagine a de tuned 4.0 engine for example.
So all in all, i like it and achieve 80-90% of what I was looking to vary on the GT3 as presented.
Probably need to show some appreciation that at least there are a few more GT / R ish type cars to go around. Not going to meet all demand, but still a chunk. And on top of this, the 911T rumour is true then there is going to be another variation to the theme shortly as well.
In all reality we do have a wide choice of variants for a specific model compared to other marques.

I'm reluctant to give up PTS for the Touring, so next best option is to go GT3 and buy the Touring decklid, or better, a 911R rear deck, which looks better (assuming it fits).

Given that all the 911s are gone turbo except for the GT3, it poses an interesting option for somebody looking for normally aspirated new 911.
Basically with the 991.2 GT3 you now have a choice of PDK or stick and wing or no wing.
Somebody who gets a PDK with wing wants the fastest of the litter. Road and track kind of customer.
Somebody who gets a stick with the wing wants the classic analog experience in their road and track car.
The buyer for a 911 GT3T wants the analog experience of a stick but has no use for a wing on their road car.
There are quite a few customers over the last 10 years who wanted a GT car with no wing and the GTS just didnt cut it.
This might be the answer.
With the 991.1RS, 991.1GT3, 991.1GT3R, 991.2GT3, 991.2GT2RS and now a 991.2GT3T we have an interesting generation of GT cars to digest. Many variations. Many different characteristics. Time will tell which cars age the best.

Lack of deviated stitching: awesome, saves me 7k on leather and black deviated stitching
Black corduroy fabric centers: even better than pepita
No alcantara: so much win
Chrome trim: read my mind
No rear seats: all my children have four wheels
No wing: no tickets
I even like the badge on the back -- and the PORSCHE is just like model designation delete.
But no PTS? Come on, if you can't approve my color in time after all this effort, at least let me get a touring PTS as the chrome trim would make a couple other colors look better, especially the metallic greens.
Soooo second choice color no touring, or black touring?
PS the fabric centers are THE best part of the touring. Corduroy is so classic and awesome and subtle

Not much chatter about LWBs vs sofas. LWBs would seem mandatory in a non-touring with PDK, but to me would seem out of place with the touring package: A subdued, wingless, street car with no wing.....and buckets? I don't see it.
