You guys are incredible. Almost all were salivating at the thought of this car and urging Porsche to build it, build it, build it...and yet as soon as it comes out...it's knock the sh@t out of it.
I personally love it and will have one in my garage early 2018 as a complement to 964 RS.

That has nothing to do with market flooded with 991 4.0. Just too many 997 4.0 were being sold and resold. Finally prices going back to normal.

I agree I think its a great offering, I'll take it anyway i can get it. I have a May 2018 car so I plan on switching to this. I plan on keeping my RS and this will go nicely with it with a touring package!
I agree I'm not as in love with Lava as I want to be. I think Chalk is the way I'm going to go with the black exterior package. Days of chrome trim are long gone!

yeah but they didn't LISTEN to us!
large numbers of us wanted back seats (at least optionally), a special color or two, and houndstooth/pepita seats. Instead they give us no back seats, no special colors (and even rule out PTS in combination with it for those of us who already had a PTS allocation!), and black cloth seats only!
No one asked for black cloth seats. No one asked for black on black stitching or black Aluminum either, for that matter.
Everyone was ready for Touring Pack to only be available with a subset of the standard colors as long as there was some special color just for it--or at least PTS available.
a fair number asked for PDK too.
it would have cost Porsche nothing to offer Touring Pack with PDK and leather or houndstooth seat inserts instead of black cloth that no one asked for, either of which a vast majority of those on this forum would have jumped for joy to hear today. And they could have made a special color for it a profit center, as well as PTS at almost $13K.
I understand the back seats would would have been costly due to US Govt testing rules, so I may be willing to give them a pass on that one alone.

This will be a great car to drive. I'm trying very hard to get it, as I tried very hard for 911R also.
Sure maybe a ducktail or some colors would be cool, but It's also going to be great "as is".

I am trying to build a car as close as possible to my 964 RS so it will be:
- Guards red
- Black touring package
- Silver wheels
- Red Belts
- LWBS Seat
- Bi-xenon pdls lights
- front lift
- and a couple of other things
Considered PCM delete but in Europe you really can't go anywhere without satnav so will leave it in.

Has anybody been able to bring this up in the configurator? I have tried Aust, UK, and US sites and does not seem to be an option. Is it hidden somewhere or really obvious?

Probably depends how many V's your VIP status has. I wouldn't be surprised if PTS comes later. I heard from a dealer that PTS demand was huge (they had half their allocations request it even with the price increase) in the initial round so all slots may have been filled for the initial PTS run.

The reason to get this is for the manual, 9k redline and 500bhp NA engine. Adding a few extras wouldn't be bad, because it's really a street car. A turbo would have more useable torque, but the fun factor on the GT3 touring should be pretty high.

Yes, but it has some flaws. My attempt at one in Carmine Red resulted in no seats or steering wheel. I tried it in Sapphire Blue and it still showed the wing.
