I wonder if you can option the rear mesh lid in chrome or something. The R had black trim and the mesh went with that but the 50th had chrome trim and the rear lid should have chromish accents.

I know really important

Much better value than the R. Hope it has a rear seat option but I doubt it will.

I think rear seats is still possible until proven otherwise. Out of interest the 1973 Rs carrera touring had the black corduroy seat and also had rear seats.
If (as they do sometimes) hark back to some historical significance, then may get lucky with the seats as well...45 years later.
Out of interest this example shows the chrome trim mixed with black accents in signal yellow. http://www.rmsothebys.com/mo17/monte...ouring/1703945

A homerun! Wonder how many will get built.

Now, if only I had an allocation. This is perfect for what I am after, minus the seats.

I'll wait for official press release.

PDK and backseats seem like the whole point of a "touring" pack. But perhaps it's all just about losing that wing.

Still looks great. Not a big fan of the brightwork around the windows, but that's a pretty small complaint.

Could be fewer than the 911R, depending on how many tick the box.

How can the engine not be detuned, has less drag without a wing, yet has a lower top speed? Is this the only Porsche sports car with a speed limiter?

+1 Perfect option for me, including the window frame brightwork! The 911R badge, magnesium roof and carbon fiber fenders and frunk doesn't add up to the R premium. What's not to like about saving $200k? No rear seats and no PDK? No care!

And I'll still take it to the track, perhaps to prove the engine isn't held in place by the wing.

Yes, we are missing essential details beyond pepita and rear seats.

Where is it written that the Touring has less drag than the regular GT3?

You're wrong if you think it doesn't add up.. And your touring GT3 will never be on par with a true R. saving $200k? lol.. Anyone who wants or can afford to buy an R is not looking at the GT3 touring as a replacement or even more so as an improvement..
How much is the original R selling for now?

The 911R has less drag, don't see anything that would cause this to have more drag than R...

This car has a better engine than R (if not detuned) with higher redline and less internal friction (even if same 500hp rating). Why would it be slower than R with similar wing and Manual GT3 with large fixed wing?

^ Right, because you prefer the negligible weight savings of a few parts over a motorsport engine. And you're asking the wrong question: It's now how much the R is selling now, it's how much will the original, genuine, authentic "true" 911R be worth later? lol

I love the 911R, but sentimentality aside, I'll almost always prefer better technology.

You have a point. I know wonder which parameter differs from the R.
